#11911853 I love JN!

Posted by Pigquet3 on 15 November 2012 - 06:37 PM

I'm almost positive that there's another topic just like this somewhere on the forums...I'll try to find it and merge them later, but in the meantime, I'd just like to say that I wouldn't have a job right now if not for JN. I only learned Photoshop and Opencanvas and graphic art in general because I wanted to illustrate TOSOT. And as it turns out, my hobby has proved far more useful than my actual degree

And some say geekiness never pays off.

P.S. I still have the ticket stub from back when I saw the original movie in theaters when I was 9. I figured that since I wouldn't be on IDOJ if it weren't for that time, its something worth saving in my wallet. ;)

#11929217 Blog about JN Revival Effort

Posted by RocksmySocks on 08 January 2015 - 12:34 AM

Hey, congrats on all the positive feedback from the professionals! Even if your proposals haven't worked out, it sounds like you're well on your way to becoming a screenwriter. It's very exciting to hear from people and companies that you hold in high esteem that you've done quality work. I'm sure you'll make it if you keep putting forth the effort. Looking forward to some day seeing a new, original series with your name on it. :)

#11881849 Your favorite book(s) as a child

Posted by XstarsandheartsX on 31 March 2011 - 05:30 AM

Ohmigosh, I think it would be easier to say which books I DIDN't like as a child. I enjoyed pretty much anything I got my hands on.

-Harry Potter
-Junie B. Jones (awesome to see other fans)
-The Babysitter's Club and the little sister books that went along with those
-Anything by Beverly Cleary
-Those diary books
-Chicken Soup for the ... Soul
-Nancy Drew
-And many other random books

Oh, and people used to buy me animal encyclopedias all the time when I was younger, so I'd read those too.

Hmm.

Maybe it's a version of the episode from a different country?

Ok! Spotless room, with duck wallpaper, and pies on the windowsill, and maybe an invention or two. ;)

#11854042 TOSOT QUESTIONS- Ask someone from TOSOT a question

Posted by RocksmySocks on 29 December 2009 - 01:40 PM

Let's play pretend.

DJ, say you were captured by the rebel forces, who decide not to kill you on sight, but give you a fair trial and sentence you to death, what do you do with the time you have left?

~Crys~

Obviously, I'd escape.

Sorry, Mara, couldn't resist. :D

#11852336 UPDATES

Posted by Mara=^.^= on 09 December 2009 - 09:32 AM

Tommy Wright has been kind enough shoot the breeze with me a bit more, so I thought I'd share our conversations with all y'all:

MARA: JN actually has a really active fandom on the internet. It's still surprisingly popular, despite the fact that no new episodes have been produced in years. Most of our members are older teens and college students (who were fans of the show in their younger years), but we keep getting new fans every day who see the show online and end up getting hooked.
We have a lot of overseas members, too, especially from South America, Europe, and the Philippines.

TOMMY: A lot of the artist from DNA say that JN was one of the funnest projects we have ever worked on and I think it really shows in the series. There was so much creative spirit in that studio. It's one of my fondest memories. We would sit in the screening room after reviewing each episode and laugh our asses off at all the silly stuff we would slip in. Oh such good times.

MARA: JN was created using Maya. They actually have classes teaching Maya at my college, but I've been too busy trying to fulfill my requirements for my major (anthropology). But some of my fellow JN fans would probably be interested in learning to animate. Any thoughts?

TOMMY:Hey, I started it as a hobby in college and now I make a pretty darn good living making cartoons and video games. You're lucky to have classes that teach Maya. Back in my day *picture old-timer* I had to learn it on my own.

There are also some great dvds and such. Gnomon is a popular place for those. If you want an easier program to learn, try Hash's Animation:Master. That's what got me started. http://www.hash.com/2007web/

Oh, and here is his picture:

#11849671 What was the first pairing you shipped?

Posted by SweeneyxxTodd on 31 October 2009 - 02:25 PM

I think the first couple I shipped was James/Lily, from Harry Potter. That was back in 6th grade, when I first found out about fanfiction, and HP fanfiction brought me to ff.net, where I spent my time reading fics about the Marauders time period.

The first slash couple I was ever introduced to (as something other than a joke) was Danny/Tucker in the Danny Phantom fandom. Didn't like it at the time because I was so hard-core Danny/Sam, but I have a newfound respect for it, and have deemed it my DP slash ship. All my fandoms have at least one slash couple I ship actively (HP has two). But Chad/Ryan from HSM was the first slash couple I ever actually shipped.

#11948335 Slash Pairings

Posted by Sanjana R on 28 June 2025 - 12:28 AM

Sheen and Carl is my favorite. The idea of it is so funny to me I can't help but love the stupidity of the idea. And I think there are enough clips from this show to back it up if you really, realllllllly wanted to.  :naughty:  :naughty: Also they're two of my three fav characters in general so...

These two are so gay-coded, I kind of love it.

No way Sheen isn't at least bi, and Carl strikes me as straight up gay, lol.

They had the whole Elke plot, which was cute, but Carl seems like the type of guy to realize he's gay later in life and be very comfortable with it
