LOL, I actually think that the most "intense" moments were actually some of the funniest in the story. Katie and I went through and annotated the chapter with a few...comments of our own. It vastly improves the reading experience

For example:

DJ: Unlike your version of the suit, which is only good for simple firepower, my version has built-in performance enhancers.
MARA: Dirty thoughts
KATIE: So many dirty thoughts

or

DJ: Like I said before, I know you, Vortex.
MARA: Biblically!

or

AURORA: Screw you !
MARA: I knew you'd come to see it my way eventually...

or

AURORA: Now they treat me like a disease, like you've infected me somehow ...
MARA: It's Syphilis.

or

DICTATOR: You see, I have a new toy…
MARA: And it vibrates!

or

AURORA: Get off get off get off GET OFF!
KATIE: Oh, trust, me he is.

And so on. You get the idea

I actually was thinking that during her "Screw you" or "Screw it!" remarks. But not really at the others.

Is it even possible for a human soul to really NOT like DJ? I mean, in all honesty, is it?

I don't think it's really possible for anyone to dislike Aurora, either. I mean, you gotta admire her guts. She's so damn flawed, but MAN, you feel for her anyway.

I hope that you and Katie make a commentary when they make this into a movie. I would watch that version more than I would any other.

I had similar thoughts while I was reading, but my mind is a dirty place to live sometimes.

Epic fight is epic. Not much more I can add than that, cause other people have said it better. I was imagining the whole thing in my head and it felt right to me, action-wise. And OMG when is DJ gonna find out about the kids?! I've been waiting for his reaction for FOREVER!

LOL, FL hit him over the head! Epic. I've always liked FL, but that made her more badass in my mind.

Am I the only one who's like "Aw! Poor Future Goddard!" it's bad enough that in the show's 'bad future' his in a constant state of disrepair, but in this one he's stuck in the core of the base, bored out of his titanium skull!

*shot 10,000,000 times by the FL fans/fanboys* I'm a cruel, sick person, aren't I? In a way I sorta don't want FS to hurt her, though, because part of what I love and admire about him is how he can unconditonally love and have compassion for...THAT. That creep and skank! lol. So yeah, I think he'd hurt a lot emotionally if he did kill her, so I don't want that on him...or anybody.

As I just said to Pedro, I love DJ! Amazing character! I was about to say, "Who writes this stuff?", but then I remembered, "Oh yeah. I'm friends with them." LOL.

OMG you are so awful! lol. I mean, sure, she has some questionable fashion choices, but creep? Hardly. I can think of so many other characters in the story that would better qualify for that term. At the worst, I'd say she's damagingly naive and a bit self-deluding...but hell, that's nothing compared to the depraved lunatics who people the pages of TOSOT.

Was it just me, or was the dialogue from Chapter 39 the same dialogue from when Mara and Katie had that roleplaying arguement a really long while back? Anyone even know what I'm talking about?


Those two chapters were amazing. So much tension and anger and whatnot-I loved it. And I think the fight scenes were perfectly written. But ahhh! Cliffhanger! I guess I'll just have to anxiously wait.

Ya, there was one page in there that was almost entirely Katie-Mara word sparring from the roleplay topic. I discarded a lot of what we argued about, though, because it wasn't relevant to the chapter, and wrote new dialogue for the rest.

A bit of both. He's sure to be a true pervert deep down, but probably doesn't even know it. Some lines and physical moves were deep. I had some interesting opinions during it, though I don't know if I'd explain them well enough here. Ya know, in a way that would make sense.

Awesome! 'Cause when I was reading it, some of it seemed so familiar. And then I read the part about how we was experimenting with her or something like that, and instantly remembered how I had laughed at that reading it the first time because it sounded so perverted to me.

LOL, that's not my favorite line from the chapter (that distinction goes to DJ's epic "I've always been a firm believer in the merits of delegation"), but that's definitely up there.
