I feel that way all the time when I read books, Katie. I close it after I finish the last page and say to myself, "That was really good."
I'm glad you're able to read so many books! I have a whole stack of books that I still need to read and will read in time.
It's also nice to have someone on here that loves reading as much as me.

Last month wasn't super great reading great reading wise and I'm hoping that this means June will be better.
And yes, I love meeting other people who love books too!

So what books are you guys reading now? Particularly Katie since I know she reads a lot.
Right now I am reading another Mary Higgins Clark book called Where Are You Now? It's about a woman named Carolyn MacKenzie who is trying to search for her brother who has been missing for ten years. It's pretty interesting.

I have been in such a book slump for the past few months and it makes me sad! Does anyone have good recs for some good graphic novels or quick reads? Maybe if I start small that will help.

Like... Full novels? Lol if they are YA or middle grade.. maybe? things just haven't been holding my attention lately, and so I need something shorter.
The ones I've been reading have had between 300 and 400 pages, give or take... Dunno if your shorter attention span can do ones that long, but it doesn't have to be all in one sitting.

I don't know that I can suggest anything you haven't already read lol
I'd still love to hear any recs you have! Especially if they are graphic novels or short stories!

So, I ended last year/ started this year in a book slump, but I am hopeful that I am finally coming out of it. I'm trying something different this year, I'm not rating the books I read. Instead, I'm coming at it with a more long-term goal of seeing how I feel about them at the end of the year ((or just after more time passes))
Like... do I remember a book? Does anything about it stick out when I think about it?
It will be interesting to see the final results!

I've had a pretty good month or two reading-wise! I don't think there have been any significant duds, and I even got in a re-read of an old favorite, which is always fun.
I think the only thing I could classify as "disappointing" (although that is a bit too strong of a word) was Gideon the Ninth. It had everything I usually like in a book: mystery, a banter filled relationship between two enemies who have to work together, an interesting magic system, and awesome ladies.
But the truth is... I was sort of meh about it. However, I might still pick up the second one because I wonder if my reaction was partially influenced by the fact that it seems so IMMENSELY popular in booktok/Tumblr circles. So, I think I just went into it expecting something that would knock my socks off, and when it didn't, I was a bit sad.

The author's a Kiwi, right? I've been on the fence about reading it.

yes, she is a kiwi. I didn't know that lol! It does seem like I am an outlier in my reaction, although another friend of mine has said that they weren't a big fan either. Do with that what you will.
I mean, bad ass lesbian necromancers in space? it's an awesome premise. It just didn't click for me for some reason.
