@Mary: are you ready for season 2 of Free?
I know I am

I'm so ready!
When does it start? I know this month, but I could never find a day.

I think the first ep is already out.

MOAR DRAMATIC REUNIONS WITH CHARACTERS FROM THE PAST (in the next episode).
I liked the parallels to the first episode of season one they made, especially since they lampshaded every single one of them. I'm not as big a fan of the opening and closing theme music as I was of season one, but I really like the accompanying animation of the closing
 especially merman!Haru because omg

I just watched the first ep...I actually love the new opening! And yes, the ending animations are aaaaawesome ![]()
I cannot stop laughing at Haru's constant stripping. He is so hilariously out of control - I really wish I knew what was going on inside that boy's head.
and omg Kou knows how to do a killer introduction I would join that club in a heartbeat ![]()

I was indignant that none of the girls in the audience were impressed with Rei's muscles. Don't they know beautiful nerd boy when they see one?
Pfffft. ![]()
Whatever. Rei can be my gorgeous dork. I'll have him all to myself.
Posted 06 July 2014 - 06:58 PM
Yeah. I am shocked a bunch of girls didn't volunteer for the club after that whole display. Maybe they have a lot of hot guys at their school and are therefore not easily impressed ![]()

Finished Noragami ("Stray God"). It's short - only 12 episodes - but I definitely recommend it.

Finished Kyoukai no Kanata ("Beyond the Boundary") recently...it's a supernatural anime about a sweet, glasses-obsessed, dumbass teenage boy and a dorky, badass, bespectacled girl. They hang out with their friends, go to literature club together, act like dweebs around each other...typical high school stuff.

....Oh, and did I mention that he's an immortal half-human-half-"shade", and she's a blood-bending shade hunter from a cursed lineage? Oh right, and she's trying to kill him.

Haha, look at her try to murder him, the little rascal...
it's ok though cuz eventually she'll want the D

The show was a little slow at times, but the last few episodes really picked up, and the romance between the two main characters was so precious and so satisfying that I was willing to forgive the occasional plot hiccup. Also not sure what happened at the end...but honestly I was so thrilled to finally have a happy ending in a tearjerker anime that I didn't even care ![]()

Ugh, I just love these two dorks.

Currently watching three animes:
Akame Ga Kill

This is literally the only anime where I've been terrified of characters dying. And when I say they randomly die, they do. I added a picture of Akame herself because the anime is clearly named after her so I'm hoping she'll live (honest, can't put up any pics b/c most of the characters in them are dead), but as of right now, Akame is not the main character. It's this dude named Tatsumi, who I really really like and hope to God he lives each episode because no one else freaking does. ;w;
I don't recommend it if you get attached to characters easily because you will cry. Honestly, this anime has made me tough. ;P
Next up is:
Fairy Tail 2014!

I've been following this anime for a really long time now, and I gotta say it's getting better. That's really, really surprising for an anime as long as Fairy Tail, but the episodes, story, and characters only get better as the anime progresses. The newest "season" of Fairy Tail focuses on the main team, and primarily, Natsu and Lucy's relationship, which is really something. There is also an episode of this anime that is the saddest, most bittersweet episode/ending I have ever saw in my life. I honestly sob as soon as I see the scene, and it's so powerful. It's called "Golden Grasslands", and I sob very, very hard when I see this scene. If you want a heart-warming anime, I suggest Fairy Tail, especially if you like comedy.
(insert spot with sword art online II but it's so shitty I won't bother trying to say anything good about it)

If you liked Sword Art Online, you'll hate this. Gonna be honest. It's turned into a flat out harem anime, and because of that, your favorite ladies have their personalities butchered. I call BS on this anime, simply put that it had a huge expectation to live up to, and since ALO (ALfheim Online) even happened, it went down hill entirely. The second season, I could tolerate, but Gun Gale Online era was utterly pointless. You never saw Asuna wield a pistol like a badass babe, Kirito was never actually a girl, and yet again, there's another girl that falls for Kirito. (I'm not even that *angry* that he introduced this girl to Asuna, calling Asuna his "friend" - like, what the hell? Can we rewind please and show you that you two are hell of a lot more than friends? You got MARRIED in a VRMMO!!!) Nevermind that, but Asuna becomes background on top of the shitty plot. Not only does this train wreck gets worse, because it does, don't worry, but even its own fans barely have a good word in for the thing.
Right now, the anime is honestly going back and forth with the plot. GGO should have never happened tbh. It was pointless to any character development other than Sinon, and she has more background than the leading lady. Speaking of Asuna, we're finally able to see what her life is like, and what she has to go through. This is the only positive thing: Asuna is finally getting some background, oh, three seasons later. Between all of this, they were hunting down some legendary weapon thing in the game.. sound confusing? That's because it is. You have no background on any of this, it just happens.
I'm sorely disappointed and I recommend you never watch it. It's not worth your time. I recommend any anime other than this, such as: Tokyo Ghoul, Free! Eternal Summer, Kiba, Magi, etc. Those are pretty good. Oh, and the Fate/Stay/Zero series if you're into history!

Completely. I have a theory the first season was made by someone else entirely lol.

I really should get around to finishing Free! Eternal Summer. I think I stopped about episode 9 because I just didn't have time to follow it along with homework and the other shows I'm watching this semester, which I prioritized over Free! because I watch them with my roommates, whereas Free! is a solo venture.

The same exact thing happened to me
I really need to finish the season. I got distracted by Zankyou no Terror and haven't gotten back into the swimming anime mood yet.
