Been watching Dangan Ronpa...

Enjoy gruesome, pink-blooded murder and courtroom style debates? Then this is the show for you!
Based on the video game by the same name, Danganronpa takes place at an elite high school called Hope's Peak Academy, which accepts talented "Super High School Level" students of the highest caliber in various fields each year, along with one average "Lucky Student" who is selected by raffle. Makoto Naegi, a fairly optimistic but otherwise average kid, is chosen as one of these students. However, when Makoto arrives outside of the gates of the Academy, he loses consciousness and wakes up inside the school, where he meets fourteen other newly picked Super High School students who are in the same situation as him. It is there that a sadistic, remote-controlled, monochrome bear named Monokuma appears before them, telling them they will be imprisoned in the academy for the rest of their lives. He offers only one way for students to graduate from the academy: murder another student and get away with it.
When a murder occurs, a "class trial" is held, in which the remaining students must determine amongst themselves who the killer is. If the students can successfully determine the true culprit, that person is put to a gruesome and ironic execution for disrupting school order. However, if the wrong accusation is made, then the true killer will be allowed to leave the academy whilst everyone else will be put to death. In a place where anyone could be a victim, everyone is a suspect and no one can be trusted, it is up to Makoto to survive these class trials and solve the true mysteries of Hope's Peak Academy.

I just finished Dennou Coil, and ah man...the ending was so sweet and amazing, OMG... I actually shed a few tears ![]()

The show takes place in the near future, where semi-immersive augmented reality (AR) technology has just begun to enter the mainstream. It follows a group of children as they use AR glasses to unravel the mysteries of their half real, half Internet city, using a variety of illegal software tools, techniques, and virtual pets to manipulate the digital landscape.

Even though it was a scifi series, it had such a simple and beautiful humanity to it. It was so...unpretentious. The show took me right back to middle school, to childhood, to small adventures with high stakes, to a time when anything could happen. Even if there were a few slow episodes in the middle, I would definitely recommend this anime to anyone looking for a little mystery and philosophy with a side of heartwarming. Dennou Coil acknowledges the simple tragedies of life but also emphasizes the necessity of moving on and finding new happiness, all while presenting some very interesting speculations about the future of technology. Seriously, give this a watch!

Plus you'll get to see scenes like this, from the infamous BEARD EPISODE

Finished watching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Now I have NO EPISODES LEFT TO LOVE
It was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good omg my babies
I almost cried when Ed gave up his alchemy to get his brother's body back...
literally my ONLY complaint is that Winry wasn't included in the final battle in any way, when pretty much every other single character we met throughout the entire series contributed something to the effort
~*Mara*~ = ^.^ =
I had soooooo many feels about FMA:B when I watched it summer of 2012. The fact that I watched it immediately after re-watching the original FMA probably had something to do with it. I love them both so much. Brotherhood was the better one overall, though, in my opinion. I think the 2003 did better in some aspects (I liked the score better, and I feel like it got the family sacrifice theme out better as well, partially because it wasn't juggling as many other subplots), but still. All things considered, Brotherhood was better.
Also, General Armstrong was probably one of my favorite characters. She was AWESOME. And she wasn't in the 2003 FMA, soo...there's that as well.

She was pretty damn boss. I think Riza Hawkeye was my fave chick, though.

Finally finished the first season of Free!

I'm actually surprised by how good it was. I mean, I started watching the show for the ridiculous fanservice, but I ended up becoming (at least somewhat) genuinely invested. The series was an interesting mixture of sports drama, emotional angst, inteeeense friendshippu~, and flagrant homoeroticism...and all the fandom jokes about Haru being sexually attracted to water filled many a tumblr night with insane, cackling laughter. All in all, high quality shit ![]()
Time to take off my clothes and climb into the department store fish tank like Haru. I'm not kidding. He actually tries to do that at one point.

Just finished the famously effed-up horror anime, Mirai Nikki (Future Diary).
The plot basically goes like this: There's this kid, Yukiteru (AKA Yukkii), who's super shy and antisocial, and who spends all his time writing diary entries about the things that happen around him instead of participating in events himself. His father left, and his mother is away for weeks at a time at her job, so he fills his hours alone at home by talking to "Deus ex Machina", a god of time and space that Yukkii believes only exists inside his imagination. Except Deus is REAL, and he likes Yukkii (and as you know, when a god likes you, it's never gonna go well for you). Worse, Deus is dying (he is A god, not THE God), and he needs someone to replace him. He gives Yukkii a magical diary that foretells the future, and at first this seems awesome, since it lets Yukkii avoid bullies, get 100s on tests, etc. Except THEN Deus reveals that he's given out 11 other diaries to people in Yukkii's hometown (for a total of 12, each with unique properties), and has recruited all the diary owners into a divine "survival game". Using the diaries and their own wits, the characters must find and murder each other. The last survivor wins the game and becomes the new god of spacetime. Heart
~!

Basically, the whole point of the show is that although Yukkii is Deus's favorite to win, he's also a total pushover, so in order to survive he is forced to rely on his cute but unbelievably effed up and psychotic stalker to protect him (since her future diary only tells what's going to happen to him). Yuno, as she is called, is just SO damn scary...she's a homicidal maniac who tries to kill his enemies and friends alike, and she like, REALLY wants to sleep with him even though they're in middle school.
The way she says his name all the time is SO FREAKIN CREEPY *shudders*
 <( "Yukkii~"
Thematically speaking, there are a lot of things about Future Diary that I find objectionable or disturbing, but then again, I did kind of watch it for the shock value
(yay Halloween season). I don't know why, but it's weirdly entertaining to watch the main character do more and more awful things as the survival game progresses, thus becoming more like his psycho stalker, to the point where he actually falls in love with the crazy bitch. It has to be one of the most twisted romances I've seen in awhile. Their blood-soaked, sloppy, underage makeout sessions = total nightmare fuel. And, oh God, the ending was so friggin tragic for the main character which is weird because the manga had a happy ending
Basically, I wouldn't recommend this show to any of you haha
There were some really funny moments though

So I watched the first episode of Attack on Titan. I can certainly see why it's rated TV-MA.
It was good, though. Video froze in a few places and I had to rewind to get the subtitles, but hopefully Funimation will work itself out because that's the best quality video I could find of the episodes. Everywhere else lagged like you wouldn't believe ![]()

So I finished Attack on Titan yesterday. I think I set a new record for myself, catching up to a show in five days. Granted, there are only 25 episodes and I have a lot of free time this week due to homework not setting in yet and one of my jobs not starting until next week, but still. I was literally addicted to watching these episodes during any and all free time. At first I thought I'd have to pace myself due to all the blood and gore and intense violence, but those damn cliffhangers made me give up any hope of pacing. They were too intense for me to not watch the next episode immediately.
And uurrrggg I wanna watch more. When will it start airing again? I must watch!!!!!
Probably going to read the manga in the meantime, because I want to know what happens and probably won't be able to wait for more eps.
Also, this:

Favorite characters so far: the main trio (obviously. How could you not love Eren, Armin, and Mikasa?), Levi, Hange, and Jean.
And I have to say that I ADORE the art style, especially the eyes. There are a lot of close ups on people's eyes in this anime and they're gorgeous.

Seriously, sometimes I paused the show on character's eyes just to look at the beautiful coloring style.
And pretty much this entire show is made up of nothing but alternating moments of awesome and nightmare fuel, but for some reason it works. Probably because it's also a giant mindscrew. The music helps a lot too, I think. I love love love the music they use. I've been trying to find it on youtube and download it, but I'm having trouble with that. There was this really cool violin and I think bagpipe song during one of the earlier episodes probably around the Trost incident that I really want, but I don't know what it's called so I can't look for it.
And is it just me, or did any of you who've watched AOT find yourself laughing at things that should be scary? Because that started happening to me about halfway through, I'd laugh even though I felt horrified, or I'd legitimately find something hilarious despite being horrified by it two episodes earlier. Eren's roar is a good example. When you first hear it, the circumstances make it slightly terrifying, but then the episode continues and instead of that, it becomes badass. But then by the time of the battle to capture the Female Titan within Wall Sina, I couldn't help but think it was hilarious because it's literally just "RAAAAAR! RAAAAAAAAAAAR! RARRRRRR!"
