Heh, I wasn't even going to post this chapter until I had the one after it finished, but with Gwen leaving I decided I needed a little cheering up. Chapter Thirteen: King and Queen of Mars

FUTURE CINDY (smiling): Mars. I remember like it was yesterday. Jimmy and I had wanted somewhere different for our wedding and we sure got it.

**Grinning in spite of herself, Cindy sits down on the bed next her future self. Her eyes betray her excitement.**

CINDY: What was the wedding like?

FUTURE CINDY: It was the most beautiful thing ever, in my opinion. The day was absolutely gorgeous.

**Cindy stands in front of a full length mirror, admiring her wedding dress. Libby pokes her head in the small room.**

LIBBY: Ooh, girl, you look great! Are ya nervous?

CINDY: Thanks, Libby. Why would I be nervous?

LIBBY: I dunno, maybe it’s because you’re about to become Mrs. Cindy Neutron.

**Cindy sits down as she anxiously touches her necklace. Her face pales.**

CINDY: Libby, why’d you have to go and say that?

LIBBY: Cin, don’t be nervous. Jimmy loves you. Why else would you two be gettin’ married?

CINDY (standing up): I’ve gotta go talk to Jimmy.

**She runs out of the room, holding her up dress to keep from tripping.**

LIBBY: Cindy! You can’t let the groom see you before the wedding! It’s bad luck!

CINDY: I don’t care!

**Cindy runs off to find Jimmy standing in a corner, alone. She quietly approaches him.**

CINDY: Jimmy, can we talk?

**Jimmy looks over to where she stands and his jaw drops.**

JIMMY: Wow, Cindy. You look…wow.

CINDY (blushing a bit): Thanks. Jimmy, are you nervous?

JIMMY: Not really. Are you?

CINDY: I wasn’t, until Libby brought it up. This is gonna work out, right?

JIMMY: Of course. Nothing will ever tear us apart. Not hostile aliens, or villains, or anything. We’ll always be together and I’ll always love you. Remember that.

**Gently, he folds her into a caring embrace and kisses her cheek.**

CINDY: Thanks Jimmy. I’ve gotta go. The wedding’s about to start.

**Future Cindy blinks back a few tears as she finishes her story. Briefly, she looks down at the picture. She sits up straighter, her face expressionless. Her voice, however, reveals just how distraught she truly is.**

FUTURE CINDY: Y-you should leave now. I’ve got to get to work on the plan.

CINDY: Fine. It’s late anyway.

**Cindy leaves the room quietly, leaving her future self to work on her plan. Future Cindy slowly gets up and walks over to the window. She brushes aside the curtains and looks out at the full moon.**

FUTURE CINDY (whispering): Jimmy, wherever Nathan’s taken you, please remember what you said to me on our wedding day. I won’t let him tear us apart.

**Firm in her resolve, Future Cindy walks back to work more on her plan. Meanwhile in Nathan’s lair, both Present Jimmy and Future Jimmy sit back-to-back, tied to chairs.**

FUTURE JIMMY: You’re not going to get away with this. Cindy will stop you.

NATHAN (flashing an evil smile): You actually think she’ll be able to? (To himself) Love is a powerful thing…

JIMMY: She’s plenty capable! And she’s got Carl, Sheen and Libby to help her.

NATHAN: Ah, look at you two. So confident in the woman you love.

JIMMY (defensive): I do NOT love her!

NATHAN: Sure, but let me tell you something. You two are each other’s better half. She’s stubborn and rash and you’re flexible and level-headed. Do you honestly think she can help you?



Okay, not my best cliffhanger ever. Anyway, did you like the chapter? Please reply! C'mon, replies will make me feel better. ;)

As for the last sentence...if you're refering to what Nathan said, he was saying that Jimmy and Cindy kinda complete each other (ROMANTIC SAP ALERT!), if that makes any sense. ;)

Oh, about the wedding on Mars.
-I couldn't help but think, what about the Martians? They're not too fond of Jimmy, when last we saw them.

Well, even though I lost my vote for a wedding in Retroville, maybe they'll still go to Vegas for their honeymoon.
-What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas.

And to everyone: I'm really, really sorry I'm taking so long. I've got writer's block and I'm trying to write the next chapter.

Heh, I'm so sorry about the wait, guys. Writer's block likes to torture me. :grr: Anyway, I FINALLY finished this chapter! :dance: I'm not too happy with how it turned out, though. I went thru about five thousand versions and all of them turned out horrible. I ended up getting so annoyed with it that I just said, "The heck with it, this is obviously the best I can do." So, here's the chapter! I used a little bit of foreshadowing in this chapter. Try to see if you can figure out what it is. ;)



Chapter Fourteen: Keep The Faith

JIMMY: I know she can save us. (Quietly) I have faith in her.

FUTURE JIMMY: Nathan, you’ll lose just like you have in the past.

NATHAN: But in the past, you two have worked together. This time she doesn’t have your help. She’s incapable of doing this without you.

JIMMY (through clenched teeth): Stop saying that about her!

NATHAN: Does that bother you?

**Nathan’s eyes glint evilly in the light and Jimmy decides not to say anything.**

NATHAN (walking away): I didn’t think so.

JIMMY (to himself): Cindy was right about this guy.

FUTURE JIMMY: What are you talking about? What did she say to you?

JIMMY: I’m not talking about Future Cindy; I’m talking about my Cindy. (Realizes what he said) I mean --

FUTURE JIMMY (smiling slightly): I know what you mean. Now what did she say to you?

JIMMY: She said she had a bad feeling about Nathan. Like he was going to do something really bad. Future Cindy said she had the same feeling. Must be one of those girl things.

FUTURE JIMMY: Probably not. She’s very intuitive about stuff like this. You should’ve taken what she said into consideration. You should’ve listened to her. Even if she didn’t act like it, she was probably upset. Cindy has a way of covering up fear with anger.

JIMMY: No, Cindy never gets upset about anything. She was being completely irrational with her notions.

FUTURE JIMMY: If she was so irrational then why are we tied back-to-back to chairs at the mercy of my jealous ex-colleague?

JIMMY: Good point.

**Future Jimmy attempts to wriggle his arm out of the rope, trying to reach a laser in his pocket. Nathan notices this and fires a warning blast from the immobilizer ray.**

NATHAN: You thought you could use something from your pocket to escape, did you? Wrong! Your only hope rests on the shoulders of your wife and her younger self.

FUTURE JIMMY: Yes, it does. And I have all the faith in the world in them.

JIMMY (whispering): Stop egging him on! He might do something to us or Cindy.

FUTURE JIMMY (whispering): Don’t worry; I’ve got everything under control.

NATHAN: Still showing unyielding confidence in her, hmm? Are you so confident you would bet on her?

FUTURE JIMMY: I’m not betting on my wife’s capabilities.

NATHAN: Oh, so you don’t have faith in her.

FUTURE JIMMY: I don’t have to bet on her to have faith. I trust her and that’s all that matters.

**At this, Nathan scowls. Clenching his fists, he turns sharply on his heels and begins to walk away.**

NATHAN (muttering): If that’s the way you want to play this, then so be it. I have plans for Cindy when she arrives.

JIMMY (overhearing what Nathan said): This can’t be a good thing. What do you think he’s going to do?

FUTURE JIMMY: I don’t know, but it won’t be anything good in the least.

**Meanwhile the following day, completely oblivious to the possible danger awaiting at Nathan’s lair, Future Cindy calls Carl, Sheen, Cindy and Libby downstairs to the living room. Tiredly, the four trudge down the stairs.**

SHEEN (tiredly walking down the stairs): Dang! First you won’t let me watch my marathon, and then you wake me up without the promise of sugar. Are you sure you’re not the villain here?

LIBBY: Sheen, quiet. I’ll get ya some sugar later.

FUTURE CINDY: Ah-hem. If you two are done with that, I’d like to tell you the plan.



Ah, so not the best way to end this chapter. Best I could come up with. Any guesses on what the plan will be? Or what the foreshadowing was? C'mon, I LOVE reading you guys' comments and predictions!! Please reply and tell me what you thought! ^_^
