(inreply to the above)
When someone goes ga ga like that,I'd expect anyone to act like cindy.  She's very "Type A" so you can forgive a little jealosy.

I don't agree with the statement that her mom overpushed her.
Jealosy can account for all or most of her bitterness.

Jealousy can only go so far. Is she really jealous in EVERY EPISODE, because she's bitter or at least angry in all of them. I can understand her jealousy in the rodeo ep, and WLK, and whenever Betty arrives on the scene, but when it's just the five of them, she doesn't really have that as an excuse. Nice idea, but it lacks substance and evidence.

Oh, and there's a U in jealousy. Spelling errors irk me; it's not personal.

Pardon that, I type from my palm pilot and not everything gets through. I didn't notice.
If someone else came to town who was smarter than I am, I'd be jealous, especially if I were younger. I've always been the genius in my circles of friends, and it would be a big shock to have to adjust after years of being the best. B just adds to the tension.
Regards,

Daniel Baker

You have a good point, but I'm still not convinced. However, whatever melts your butter is fine with me, as long as you don't try to press it onto me, and let me keep my own opinion.

I don't believe she's abused. I think she just would be embarrased to a whole new level if something peeked ot that she loves jimmy. Her parents bought her a bunch of nice clothes, and they have been seen hugging her (in the movie) and helping to save her in Win, Lose and Kaboom.

Very true, I must've briefly forgot about those little moments when I originally posted.

So the majority of this attitude Cindy has is most likely 1) her secret crush, 2) being second-best.

Though I still say she deserves to have Nick as her love partner, as he's the only boy that Cindy has ever been nice to. ;)

Offhand, the only instance I can recall where Cindy showed any interest in Nick at all was in Trading Faces. Really I can't see them as a couple at all. Cindy seems rather high maintainence and Nick seems way too interested in himself to truly be interested in a multi-layered girl like Cindy.

I love Cindy! She's strong, gutsy, and she kicks butt! She says what she thinks (except when it comes to her feelings for Jimmy), she won't let anyone walk over her,and she can be your worst enemy or your best friend.
Yes she can be mean to Jimmy (and others) sometimes but she knows when it's too much and knows when she has to be supportive and nice.

I mean really, she can't be a bad person in any way and have a great pal like Libby :D

She is, imo, exactly what Jimmy needs. Jimmy needs someone who can challenge him and keep him on his toes.

I only wish more people tried to see what's behind the tough exterior she surrounds herself with.

Cindy is one of those cool, kick butt girls who is calm and collected SOME OF THE TIME. Most of the time she's fighting with Jimmy (well, you know why ~_^). But she is overall an awesome character.

And I think she and Jimmy are adorable together. <3

Cindy is easily my favorite female character on the show. Girls who are nice and sweet and easy going all the time are kinda boring. And Cindy has a fire to her that Jimmy obviously finds interesting whether he's willing to admit it or not. :)

That's the way I feel about those types of characters.

Lol too true, and it looks like in KoM and LStN he has finally admitted it to himself and accepted it ^_^

I love Cindy. And her and Jimmy as a couple.

I've been reading and saw that some belive the reason for her sour and bitter attitude was because of her parents high expectations for her to be no. 1 at everyting. And others say that she has this attitude because she hiding the fact that she loves Jimmy and of Jelousy whenever another girl (especally Betty) makes out with Jimmy. There's even the possiblity of both y'know?

This J/C rivalry reminds me of Arnold and Helga from "Hey Arnold". Helga hid her true feelings from everyone and was somewhat mean to Arnold whenever he or anyone elsewas near her.

Actually I'm more reminded of Pride and Prejudice. Think about it. Lizzy and Mr. Dacy (good God, it's been too long. I can't even remember his name), and their love/hate relationship? There's also the factor of Sheen/Libby (and any other sideline pairings), and in the book all her friends are pairing up, and Lizzy's parents are urging her to get with at least someone. And they get together in the end.

It makes sense in my head, anyways.

I love Pride and Prejudice, it's one of the greatest novels ever written.

But, imo :) , J/C is more like H/A. But it does have a little E/Mr. Darcy in it because they were more like intellect rivals than anything else...kinda like J/C.

Do we even know for sure that Arnold reciprocated the same feelings that Helga secretly harbored for him?

Nope he did not lol. But when he had a dream about marrying Helga  the dream ended in a happy note and Arnold admits that being married to Helga might not be bad...even though he didn't know at the time that he will marry Helga...off the page anyway cause the shows over.

So then H/A isn't very related to J/C. Don't get me wrong, I can see they're very similar, but I still think P&J was closer to the mark.

Wait, he had a dream about marrying Helga? Where was I when this happened? I thought I'd seen them all! (Really, I was pretty much addicted to that show.) What ep was this in? *is confused*

It's one of the final, if not the final, episodes :D It has to be one of the best H/A epis ever!!!!! While he is having a nightmare about marrying Helga she is having a very very very happy dream about marrying him :P
And the reason I think J/C is more like H/A is because Cindy hides her feelings for Jimmy like Helga did with Arnold, by picking on him and insulting him constantly. But yes I do thinks it's a little like P&P

Well, they're both comparable in their own respects. Which is more similar to JxC is really just a matter of opinion, no? *there's no smiley with one eyebrow raised*

I don't think Nick's so good for her..she's WAY better than him.
