Delicious in Dungeon.. that is all.

I've read the first 44 chapters, but I'm having trouble getting into it. Is the anime markedly different from the manga, do you think?

That's fair. I have been enjoying the manga, but I've only read the first like.... 11 chapters or so as compared to watching the entire series on netflix in pretty much one sitting. So far, the plots have been almost beat for beat the very same or at least VERY VERY similar, so if that's what you are struggling with, it might not be much better.

BUT the animation is quite good, and there are obviously more expressions, a beautiful musical score, etc. The episodes are also quite short (like half an hour long). You could try one or two and see what you think.

I've only read a bit of the Manga (not sure how many chapters...maybe halfway through volume 3) and personally I like the anime better. The characters personalities shine through a bit more I think.

Absolutely obsessed with this weirdo.

Kabru is the reason I'm still reading. I don't really care for any of the main characters (except Chilchuck), but this guy? It's like he's always playing 4d chess...with himself. 10/10, no notes

Why'd they have to make him so attractive though

My favorite so far is Senshi. Chilchuck is a close second, though.

Have i actually watched any of the previous seasons of Bridgerton? Yes, but not in their entirety by any means.

Have I watched the carriage scene in this last episode about a dozen times and swooned? Yes.

I have heard a lot of people say they didn't like it, but.. Damn. That cover of give me everything and the sheer thirst in his eyes when she runs her fingers through his hair just.. Hit so good.

Also, this is the hottest woman I've ever seen in my life. I had to check it out.

Yes!!! She is so gorgeous. Like…. No words.

The love scenes in that season were so hot. Like melted my screen. I personally just don't like this specific brand of drama, like I wore myself out on gossip girl, (my sister loved it). It’s really not a genre I enjoy too terribly much anymore, but I might have definitely watched some of the more… steamy scenes and love confessions. 😆

I didn't really like season 1, but I'm enjoying season 2 much more. Everyone seems to be having fun. Lady Danbury is my favorite character overall, but Kate is mwa! chef's kiss as well.

Yeah, I also knew some.. Not great things about s1, so I really watched only a little of it. But the overall reception of s2 was positive and I keep meaning to sit down and watch the entire thing lol

This kind of schmaltz really depends on the charisma and chemistry of the leads, since the writing isn't exactly high brow. Making goo-goo eyes at each other just isn't enough to carry a performance.

Although, put Simone Ashley in a Regency era ballgown, and I'll watch just about anything >.<

That is totally fair. I also know that there was some dubious consent in s1 which really isn't my jam. ((i have heard
the book was even worse in this way.)) I did watch the famous “I burn for you” speech because that shit just turns
Me into a puddle with almost no context. I'm such an easy mark.

Season 1 really is an object lesson in why sex ed and therapy are fucking vital. Yikes.

Yeah, from what I did hear from others or lean by reading about it, it sounds like a bit of a mess.

Omg lol I love Bridgerton. I normally don't like romance novels/movies but this is like...the right amount of ridiculous that I actually like it. Tim put it on for us one night not long after season 1 debuted because he'd heard it was really popular and was like "Mary likes historical stuff, let's try it" but gave me no warning and then like two mins into the first episode Anthony is banging his mistress against a tree semi-publically while the footman stands a few feet away looking awkward and we about died. That sold it for us. That this would have enough humor to carry the romance. I love the Featheringtons for the same reason. Just so dumb and so ridiculous. Lady Danbury and maybe Portia too I think are my favorites. A wealthy elderly widow living her best life and a trashy Baroness desperate to marry off her daughters at any cost no matter how outrageous she has to be to accomplish it.

I think I'm gonna wait until the second half of season 3 is released before watching it. We're working our way through Delicious on Dungeon and the third season of Hilda atm anyway, plus an audiobook.

This was genuinely hilarious. I want a series about the servants and all the shit they put up with. >.<

I'd watch that.

Wait, Downton Abbey already kind of did that, but that took itself very seriously. There is humor, but yeah. It's less tongue in cheek.

I do think one of the man servants had a storyline in Queen Charlotte, but I haven't watched that one.
