Tenzin is tempting fate!! I swear, when he said, "As long as I'm still breathing," I almost cried. And they were so. damn. VAGUE as to what happens to him. I mean, zooming out and blocking the view with a wall, leaving only sound to let us know that Tenzin's getting smacked around, and then CUTTING THE SCENE so we don't know what happened to him?

 

BRYKE WHY YOU SO CRUEL?!?!

 

I'm really, really liking season three. This show just keeps getting better, in my opinion. More like ATLA in impact and emotion and storytelling strength. Season one always struck me as kinda immature, you know? In how scattered it was and how poor the balance between humor, romance, and plot was. LOK has come a long way since then.

 

Also, the animation was particularly good in this episode. I liked the way they animated Kai's flying, and the angles they used during the fight scenes were interesting and upped the suspense and urgency.

If he's dead... On the one hand I will hate the creators... but on the other hand, my respect for them will go even higher for actually having the guts to do this.

Either way, that was a f*ckin' awesome cliffhanger! This show is starting to reach Game of Thrones levels of OMG!

That episode gave me so many feels. And not the good kind, either. The tear-my-hair-out-because-I'm-so-worried kind.

I can't believe this season is already over!!   (season finale this weekend, one hour)

Like.. what the hell? Really? I remember last year, the season was so much later and didn't finish until October-ish (I think, but I do remember watching it on Fridays with two friends in college so yeah). 

 

This is by far my favorite season.

With the hugging and all.. is it me, or did the creators go completely backwards with the Makorra shit? Meaning that, it was a subtle, sweet hug, not the intense shit we got from the past two seasons.

 

Call me skeptical, but I'm thinking the creators definitely did some thinking on their characters and romance this season.

Holy shit. This finale. HOLY F*CKING SHIT. I am astounded by the risks they were willing to take. My soul is CRUSHED, but I couldn't be happier. The level of improvement this season is just...I can't even quantify it.

What's interesting about the ending is, it IS a happy ending... for everyone but Korra.

 

Zaheer and his group have been defeated (though, I think they should just kill Zaheer - I mean, he can still go into the Spirit World, right?), Lin has made up with her sister, Bolin has learned LavaBending (how awesome was that BTW), and the Air Nation has a great new leader in Jinora.

 

However, what Korra's realizing is, maybe the world doesn't need her anymore. After all, it wasn't really her who defeated Zaheer - It was the Airbenders. She was unable to save her father (even though he survived anyway). And now she is in a crippled state, probably for a good while, and the Airbenders are all going to travel the world helping people wherever they can.

 

Korra WASN'T the hero this season... And she's beginning to realize that maybe the world doesn't need the Avatar after all...

The finale's been out for a week. No spoiler tags necessary. And I think it makes sense that they're not killing Zaheer. The others were killed out of necessity--the heroes wouldn't make it out alive if they hadn't taken out Ming Hua and P'Li, and Ghazan really didn't wanna go back to prison. But killing Zaheer might have made him a martyr in the eyes of the rest of the Red Lotus. And then they'd have more on their plate to deal with.

So, it seems we have a release date for Book 4. It's October 3rd. As in, THIS October 3rd! WTF??

I know!!! It's so crazy it's so soon. I mean, I knew they had the final season finished for quite a while now, but to see it so early is beyond me. My biggest concern is if this is Nick's doing. If so, I could see a lot of hesitation in bringing back the Avatar franchise.
