i wanted to cry and laugh because I really just had no idea what my emotions were for the entire episode.

 

 

I really, really understand what Korra is going through and it is just so sad to watch.

When I noticed her avatar spirit haunting her and attacking her, it was just.. so sad to see. It's like, how many goddamn times is Korra gonna get a blatant "fuck off, avatar" sign? By now, I would have just lost it and honestly given up being avatar. Mad props to Korra.

This season already has me hooked! It's amazing the improvement we've seen now that the writers are able to focus, and aren't being jerked around by Nick.

I'm getting a Dark Knight/Dark Knight Rises vibe from Korra right now, as she is questioning if she truly is needed anymore.

People keep saying "we'll take care of things"... Which is exactly what she's afraid of - That the Avatar is superfluous at this point.
I really hope she finds some purpose down the line.

 

Though it's kind of obvious that Kuvira is going to be the villain of the season, I really can see her side here. She is genuinely trying to bring order, and it's clearly working... but at what cost?

And honestly that prince guy is really obnoxious. I certainly wouldn't want him for my king.

 

That Aang pic gave me warm feelings, as it brought back memories from the original show.

 

And of course, when Toph called Korra "Twinkle Toes", I nearly cried. I knew she would show up thanks to the trailer, but that line really got me.

So...after the latest episode, what are your thoughts on Zhu Li's supposed defection to Kuvira's side? Think she's betraying Varrick for real, or just playing Kuvira as part of a larger plan to save Varrick? Personally, I suspect the latter.

 

Either way, it was good to see Bolin lava-bending again.

Yeah, I think Zhu Li is trying to gain Kuvira's trust. I think she's doing it to prove herself to Varrick, so he'll stop treating her like crap.

 

What about Hiroshi? Do you think he was being sincere? I think so. I think that scene was supposed to show us that relationships can be mended, giving us hope for Su & her son... and maybe even Kuvira.

 

 

Also - I can't remember whether is was the Walker bros or the SourceFedNerd guys who brought this up, but it's a good point:

 

Tenzin, Bumi and Kya are Aang and Katara's children...

Lin and Su are Toph's children...

We know Zuko has a daughter, and we caught a glimpse of her this season...

And for a second there, I was convinced they might actually be brave and daring enough to have Mako die, when he started bending lightning at that spirit vine thing inside the Colossus Mecha. They tend not to kill off good guys, though, but from the music and the tension and the cuts, I thought they actually might.

 

I don't think I can type coherent thoughts anymore. Somebody else please have seen it and respond!!! Please!!

OMFG YAAAASSSSS VARRICK AND ZHU LI DID THE THING and they're gonna do the other thing later tonight heh heh. Also KORRASAMI IS CANON BITCHESSSSS F*cking called it back in season 3 UNF I was sorely disappointed by the lack of KaixJinora in the finale, though (and in this season as a whole, now that I think about it). They were my favorite ship in season 3, and they got almost no screen time in 4. Oh well. That is what fanfiction is for, I suppose. *shrug*

 

I actually have a lot to say about the finale outside of the shipping, but I think I'm going to wait until later to type up a full review, 'cause it's 3am and ain't nobody got time for that shit at 3am.

I just watched the finale. I loved it... but I'm also sad, 'cause it's over...

 

There were several points throughout the episode where I was actually very worried that some characters may not make it.

On the one hand, I'm glad they all survived (well, except Hiroshi, but at least he was able to redeem himself in the end), but on the other, I feel it would have been ballsy to kill off at least one main character.
I was also thinking Mako might die at that part...

I'm kinda glad they didn't kill Kuvira honestly. I feel that would have been too quick.

 

Varrick and Zhu-Li... Yeah, what more needs to be said? They did the thing... And it was glorious!

And YES! Korrasami FTW!!! I'll admit I'm not usually one for the whole "shipping" thing, but I totally ship those two!
I'll admit, part of me was kinda hoping they'd kiss at the end, but don't mind that they didn't. Still leaves it open for the people who DON'T like that pairing.
