These are awesome! xD and I love how they touch on the up-til-then subtle plotline of Varrick corrupting the people around Mako... Turning Bolin's selflessness around to being completely self-absorbed, turning Asami's independent character to one of complete dependence on him (especially after she had a weak moment and looked to Mako for some support, which he didn't return in the way she wanted), and egging on the peace-keeping avatar to go behind everyone's backs and stir up more fights.

I thought Beginnings was completely awesome! Ironic how Korra played a very small part in that, and we didn't see any Tenzin drama... Really cool how it explained the origins of benders and the avatar. As a side-effect, however, I felt the amnesia arc completely flopped. I get how they wanted to emphasize that Korra needed to discover her true self and all that, but the amnesia portion overshot that goal and just made the introduction of it cheesy. Like Mara said, they could've gone down that route a little further and made the amnesia arc quite interesting, but they missed out... so many missed plotline opportunities here...

Now that the avatar is back in business, and Desna and Eska believe her to be dead, I'm hoping we see an epic comeback scene where Korra puts the fear of Raava in them...

I just finished a marathon with my roommates. We watched episodes 10-14 all in a row. My only reaction is that I literally have absolutely no f*ckin clue what to expect from Bryke anymore.

I just finished watching "Avatar: the last airbender" for the very first time and was completely blown away. Now I'm sad it's over and have spent the past 5 minutes scrolling through the topics in the other fandoms general section. I found 30 avatar based topics before I got bored of counting, and I also found this. Does anyone know of a place where I can watch the series?

I watch Korra on nick.com after it airs on TV. I dunno if they will have all the episodes of both seasons up right now, though.

I thought this was really well done. I love Korra and Asami's friendship. It seems like it's growing really nicely and naturally over the course of the series.

I think I'm really gonna like Kai. Morally ambiguous little kid sounds like a lot of fun Too bad he and the other airbenders in Ba Sing Se got thrown in Dai Li prison for the queen's army. I guess the Dai Li really is always evil. *shrugs*

 

1920s-era Lower Ring looks really cool, too. All grungy New York style. That first background image of it was really nice to look at. And Mako and Bolin getting to meet their dad's extended family was really nice as well.

 

And Old Man Zuko! I really enjoyed him. Especially when he made that awkward Combustion Man joke. It was great. "We have this prisoner locked up here who can create powerful firebending explosions with her mind. Ironically, I hired a man who could do this to kill the Avatar once. *awkward silence* It didn't work."  

 

I'm excited to see where this season takes us.

So far, I'm liking Korra better this season. She's actually being smart.


The president's approval ratings are "nearly as low as the Avatar's"... I don't know why, but that cracked me up.

Lol, Bolin!   I loved the part where he talked about his & Mako's potential grandma, and the part where he pointed out all the stereotypes! "Oh, you mean the brooding teenager?"

Lol, at Tenzin's reaction to Korra and Mako's awkwardness.

I am SO glad they've ditched that stupid love triangle.

 

These villains are shaping up to be pretty cool.

I loved the scene with Tenzin trying to convince all the Airbenders to come with him! Though I do find it a little hard to believe that not one of them agreed to come...
That one guy Korra was trying to convince... I like him!

And he has a dragon?! SWEET!

Kai seems like he'll be an interesting character. Not quite sure how I feel about his thing with Jinora, but I'll wait and see where it goes.

Earth Queen = Greedy bitch. I think she's gonna be a character I love to hate.

Still love Mako and Bolin's interactions.
