Despite Lin's bending being taken away, the way she surrendered herself and put her life on the line - "Whatever you do, don't look back" - was pure class and dignity. I have nothing but respect for Lin now.

This episode has just solidified my hero-worship of Lin Bei Fong, I have to say. She's the most BAMF character to ever exist.

As for new Iroh - totally weirded me out with Zuko's voice, but I'm psyched to see him in the finale. Also, guessing he's Zuko's grandson? Seems too young to be his son. Speaking of sons, Pema's baby is adorable. I hope Katara doesn't go and kick the bucket now. *more tears*

I thought of that too -- is he Zuko's son or grandson? I guessed grandson likely 'cause a huge amount of time passed by between Korra and Avatar. It's still awesome to know that he'll take part in the finale. Heck, maybe he'll become Korra's "Iroh".

She won't. Aunt Wu said she'd pass away after the birth of her third great grandchild. So unless Kya or Bumi also had kids who are now old enough to be poppin' out babies, I think Katara will be good for the rest of the series.

Also, did you guys catch the new baby's name? At first I thought it was Roland and I was like "WTF did that come from?" but now I'm thinking it was really Rowan? I don't know though.

Let's briefly begin with my long-manifested detestation of Makorra. Well, specifically Mako, who is the burdening factor of both his relationships lol jk his ass got dumped. First off, a tip of the hat to Asami for putting Mako in his place. Not only did he blame everyone else for his BLATANT mistakes and romantic discontinuity, but he further aggravated Asami during a perilous stage of battle-- thus authenticating how big of an asshole he is.

Really, Mako? You're going to creepily mouthbreathe over a sleeping Korra WHILE ASAMI IS WITHIN VIEW?
You're going to ACCEPT the sarcastic inquiry to sit in the back?
You're going to wrap your arm around Korra and let your ex-girlfriend watch?





As it stands, Mako deserves to be forever alone.





In an effort not to be a complete twat ahem Mako, Bolin and Korra share some adorably subliminal moments.
Can we just acknowledge these gifs for a second?



These two clearly comfortable around one another, and Bolin actively and openly encourages Korra. This is the type of decency that feeds a relationship, as opposed to Mako's arbitrary drama or sulky passive aggressiveness. Borra, I will go down with your ship.

I'm like, the opposite of all the LOK fans on IDOJ, apparently.

You guys don't ship anybody...I ship literally everybody.

Seriously. You name a somewhat plausible pairing, I probably ship it.

I ship Makorra, Borra, Masami, Korrasami, Bosami, Linzin, Pemzin...whatever the heck portmanteau denotes Amon/Lieutenant...all of them. All the characters, all the things.

I just have too many headcanons to completely abandon shipping in this show, even if everyone's being romantic douches to each other/not getting the proper attention. To me, shipping these crazy relationship webs is far too entertaining to let go.

So there ya have it.

I know. Out of all the "normal" pairings, it's the most far-fetched. But it's also the most plausible of the "crack" pairings. It's straddling the line there.

EDIT: And the fact that a lot of the Tahnorra fans ship it because "Mako's a jerk and he doesn't deserve Korra" also makes me laugh. Apparently these fans forgot how much of an ass Tahno was right up until the moment he lost his bending. But, you know, details. Who cares about them?

Oh my god I wish I had a tumblr so I could respond and explain why this tumblr post is COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY WRONG:

Lin Bei Fong is the bravest character of the entire series.

Just like Snape.

GAHHHHHH LIN IS NOT LIKE SNAPE. SHE IS WAY COOLER AND BETTER IN EVERY CONCEIVABLE WAY.

Snape was a horrible person. A HORRIBLE person. Yes, he did some brave stuff, but only out of guilt for being such a HORRIBLE PERSON...guilt that apparently failed to teach him how to NOT be a horrible person. Snape is super complicated, and in a moral grey area, and only awesome in that his cold-heartedness was able to work to the good side's advantage.

That's not Lin. Yes, there is the similarity that they both had a thing for someone who married someone else, and vowed to protect their offspring. But beyond that, Lin is just so much cooler. SO much cooler. How? For starters, she's not cruel for the love of cruelty. She doesn't blindly hate her past-love-interest's children. She is honorable and doesn't just fight for one person, she fights for all. She isn't saving the air-bending family out of guilt for her past douche-baggery-ness, because she doesn't HAVE past douche-baggery-ness. Not Snape's type, at least.

You can call Snape a hero if you want, but he is not the same type of hero that Lin is. Not in my book. So no. Even if you think Snape is the bravest in Harry Potter, I don't believe Lin is the bravest ,"just like Snape". She's the bravest because she's AWESOME and isn't a sniveling whiny jerkface.
