Chapter 13: The Last Day at Camp
(Carl's POV)
During the next few days, nothing unusual happened. It was the last day of camp that stuck out in our minds like a sore thumb!
It all started out like any normal day. Everyone was packing up their belongings when I smelled something awful. Turns out, everyone else smelled it, too, and complained about the horrible stench.
"Oh, nasty!!! Carl, was THAT you?!!" Sheen exclaimed, covering his nose.
"No, it wasn't Carl! It smells more like a skunk than a gaseous release!" Jimmy pointed out, trying to locate the source of the smell.
"Oh, P.U.!!!! This smells worse than my grandmother's month-old cabbage casserole!" Nick gasped, gathering up the remainder of his luggage and rushing out the door.
A few minutes later, Jimmy popped his head out of the bathroom door and informed us, "It WAS a skunk, and it's in the cabinet beneath the sink."
"How did it get in?" I wanted to know, trying to stay as far away from the smell as I could while packing the rest of my things.
"My guess is that it got in through the open bathroom window, wanting to get to the food left on the windowsill," he told me.
"All I want to do is get away from that skunk smell!" Sheen added, packing up the last of his things and hurrying out the door.
The rest of us nodded in agreement as we gathered our things and rushed out of that cabin in a flash. The girls were already packed and standing outside their cabin, waiting on the bus to pick them up.
Cindy apparently saw us hurrying out, because she asked, "What are you guys running away from? Snakes? Spiders??"
"Nope. Skunks," I replied, waving my hand in front of my nose.
"Oh, nasty!" Libby commented.
Right at that moment, the bus pulled up and we all got on it quickly before it could leave without us.
Everyone sat in groups of 2 or 3 in each of the seats on the bus.
While we were on our way home, Jimmy, Sheen, and I talked about past experiences. "Remember that time when we went back in time to the dinosaur age? That was cool when everyone else went back to the present, but the bad guys were left in the dinosaur age! How funny was that??" Sheen reminded us.
I giggled and said, "Yeah, I remember that! And that time when our pants turned alive? I found that rather scary!!"
"Yeah! Libby was lucky cuz she was wearing a dress! It was funny when Cindy started limboing under the monkey bars, cuz her pants made her do it!" he agreed, laughing.
"I gotta admit, I found that rather hilarious!!" Jimmy admitted with a giggle.
"You think THAT'S funny, Jimmy?! How about when Libby commanded those mummies to sleep for an indefinitely long time?!! Now, that's what I call funny!!" Cindy commented with a laugh.
Libby couldn't help but laugh when she heard that one.
"And also, remember when Brobot claimed that there were moony-men after him on the moon, but it was all a prank??!" I reminded him.
"I didn't find it funny at the time, but now that I look back on it, I find it rather funny!" Jimmy admitted, giggling.
We were so busy remembering past events that we didn't notice that we arrived home after the next 20 minutes until the bus stopped. We each got out and went ot each of our respective homes, thankful for a good week at camp.

Chapter 14: An Unfortunate Turn of Events
(Jimmy's POV)
Truth be told, we'd almost completely forgotten about the little camp incidents until a couple days before the 5 week deadline. Every one of us except Carl were in a trance about doing married-couple activities, except it was more intense than before.
Cindy was more moody than usual due to her pregnancy, and I had a feeling Libby was, as well. One minute she was happy as a lark, the next, she was down and depressed about nothing in particular. Girls are so strange sometimes, especially when there's a baby on the way!
When Mrs. Folfax and Mr. Estevez found out about what happened between their kids, they reacted pretty much the same way as my parents and Cindy's mom did: shocked, then proud that the right thing was done by telling them what happened and being honest about it.
On that day, I was running a few tests on my newest invention, a self-repairing robot, when VOX's buzzer went off. I pressed a button and saw that Carl and Sheen were at my lab's entrance, then pressed another to let them in. They went down a chute and landed with a thud on my lab's cement floor. "Ow! My scapula!!" Carl moaned, rubbing his shoulder.
"So, guys, what brings you here?" I wanted to know, completely focused on my invention.
"We're here to tell you that we caught Eustace Strych in the act of robbing the Retroville Bank!" Sheen informed me.
"Yeah, Jimmy!" Carl agreed, "We would've gone after him ourselves, but we didn't want to get hurt, so we decided to get away from him and tell you!"
"Do you guys know how much was stolen?" I suspiciously asked.
"No, but it's on live TV right now," Sheen said, obviously referring to watching the report on VOX.
I relented and switched it to television mode. Immediately afterward, I learned that he managed to steal approximately 5.6 billion dollars in cash and gold bars.
"Holy Heisenberg!" I exclaimed, "He's already rich! Why would he want more money?!!"
"I dunno, Jimmy, but I have a feeling he's up to no good!" Carl told me, shrugging.
"Well, DUH!! Of COURSE he's up to no good! He's a villain! That's what villains do!!" Sheen pointed out sarcastically, rolling his eyes.
Then VOX's door-buzzer went off. I pressed a button and saw that Cindy and Libby were at the door, then let them in with the touch of a button. They landed the same way Carl and Sheen did.
"So, Cindy, what can I do for you, sweetie?" I politely asked her.
"Word on the street is that Eustace Strych robbed the Retroville Bank. Is that true?" she verified.
"Yep. Five-point-six billion dollars in cash and gold bars," I informed her.
"What could he want with so much money? He's already rich!" Cindy pointed out.
"He's probably just greedy, is all," Libby put in.
"Or he has a mind-boggling scheme to get rid of me in the process! Whatever it is, it's pure evil!" I explained to them. Then I added, "We need to find out what he's up to and put a stop to it! Are we synced?"
"You know it, Jimmy!!" everyone else exclaimed in unison, high-5-ing at once with me.
"Wonderful! Let's go kick some bad boy butt!!" I proclaimed, leading them out of my lab and into town.

Chapter 15: Downtown Rumble
(Cindy's POV)
Jimmy had taken us in his hover car to downtown Retroville when we noticed that everything was eerily quiet, quite unlike the normal hustle and bustle of normal city activity. "Where is everybody?" I asked, confused.
"I don't know, Cin, but I have a feeling Strych had something to do with it!" he told me uneasily, a worried look on his face.
"First and foremost," Libby pointed out, "Where's Eustace?"
"I don't know, Libby-licious!" Sheen said, shrugging.
"I thought I told you never to call me that!" she hissed through gritted teeth.
"Point taken!" he exclaimed, shrinking away from her a little.
"Uh, let's just focus on finding Strych, okay?" Carl suggested.
"Good idea, Carl," I agreed. Then an idea sprung to my head. "Jimmy, honey, do you think you have our N-Men packets in your hypercube?" I wanted to know.
"Sure do!" he reassured me, handing them out to us without hesitation, which we doused without a thought.
"Uh, just one thing, Jim," Carl stated hesitantly.
"Yeah, Carl?" he questioned.
"Doesn't your packet cause you to become that huge, strong guy when you get mad without warning?"
"Not to worry, Carl! I made it to where I can control it and it won't catch me off guard, okay? Plus, I can become that guy and return to normal at will," Jimmy told him confidently.
"Okay," Carl agreed, giving him a thumbs-up. :thumbsup:
Just then, we heard some ground-shaking vibrations coming from around the corner of the nearest block.
"Cindy, use your supervision to see who's causing those vibrations!" Libby suggested.
"You got it, Libs!" I told her, and used my supervision to peer around the corner. I saw that it was none other than Eustace Strych in his tripod robot! "It's Eustace Strych!!" I gasped as my vision returned to normal.
"I thought so! Sheen, run around his tripod and cause it to be caught in a tornado!" Jimmy suggested hurriedly.
"Soo-WEET!! I'm on it!!!" Sheen exclaimed, and did as Jimmy told him to do. Soon, the tripod was caught in a tornado and whisked away without a trace. As he was spinning away, I heard him yell, "You've not seen the last of me, NEUTRON!!!!!!"
The gold and money Strych had stolen was left sitting in the middle of the street, unharmed.
"Look! Free money!!" Libby breathed.
"Sweet! C'mon, guys!!" Sheen exclaimed, and started to bolt for it with Libby and Carl.
"Hold it, you three!!" Jimmy commanded with his arm extended like a police officer's.
They immediately stopped in their tracks, obviously wondering why he'd stopped them.
"That money belongs to the Retroville Bank! It needs to be returned to its rightful place," he added, pointing to the bank.
"Okay, fine," Sheen sighed, and helped the rest of us with carrying the money back to the bank.
Once the cash was returned, we all retreated to the hovercar and Jimmy piloted it back to his lab.
Once there, however, we were bored out of our minds. We just sat on the grass, not knowing what to do. Suddenly, I thought, Wait a minute! Wasn't the reason Jimmy called us to his lab was to find out where the antidote was and go try to find it? "Hey, Jimmy! Didn't you say that there was a limit of time the antidote could be found in before the potion's effects on someone become permanent?" I wanted to know.
"You're right, sweetie! Let's go to my lab to find out what that antidote is and where to find it!" Jimmy said informatively, motioning us to follow him to his lab, which we did.
Once inside, he determined that the antidote was from a wildiferous florididii a very rare flowering plant that only inhabits the northeastern United States. Then he announced, "We need to set off to find this flower and produce the antidote from it. To-"
"Can I say it, Jimmy???" Sheen asked, jumping up and down.
"Go ahead, Sheen," he muttered.
"To the hovercar!" Sheen proclaimed, and we were soon in it on our way to the northeastern United States.

Here's Chapter 16, finally!
Unforgettable Summer and More
Chapter 16: The Journey Northeast
(Libby's POV)
We had been on our way for about 10 minutes when Sheen started to be obnoxious, as usual.
"Are we there yet??" he wanted to know, obviously bored.
"No, Sheen, we're NOT there yet!!" I hissed, highly irritated.
"Well, tell me when we ARE, cuz I'm just so dang bored!!!" he commented.
I rolled my eyes as I replied, "Will do, Sheen!" But I was smiling on the inside.
Then I heard Jimmy say, "Libby, I know you're going through mood swings, but that doesn't give you the right to be so hard on Sheen!"
"Jeez, Neutron! I was just kiddin'! Can't ya take a joke??" I teased. I then turned to Sheen and asked, "Don't ya have yo' UltraLord video game to keep ya busy?!"
"Oh, yeah! I forgot about that!" Sheen realized aloud, and pulled out his game and started playing it.
I looked over at Cindy, and saw that she was silently flirting with Jimmy, even though he had no clue she was. She made bunny ears on him with her fingers as she sat behind him while he was piloting the hovercar, giggling to herself quietly. I considered that for a bit, then I did the same thing to Sheen, whom I happened to be sitting behind, giggling to myself.
But, apparently, I wasn't quiet enough about it, because he turned around and questioned, "Okay, who's doin' that?!"
I immediately blushed and admitted, "Sheen, that was me, honey."
"Oh, okay. As long as it wasn't Cindy!" he told me, and turned to face the front of the hovercar, refocusing on his video game.
Cindy, however, persisted with teasing Jimmy, until he finally noticed what she was up to and politely requested, "Sweetie, could you stop so I can drive, please?"
"Sure thing, my little hunkmuffin!" she responded sweetly.
Surprised, I thought, Hunkmuffin?! Okay, I'm officially astounded!! Looks like the potion is slowly becoming permanent! We'd better hurry up with finding and creating that antidote!
About an hour later, Sheen started to ask the same old question as before: "Are we there YET?!" As drawn to him as I was at the time, that question being repeated over and over was starting to get on my nerves. I looked at the built-in GPS system towards the front of the hovercar and saw that we were currently in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. With a sigh, I told him firmly, "No, we're not there yet, sweetie. Did ya forget abouty yo' video game?"
"Kinda... Yeah," he admitted, and started playing it again.
Carl, on the other hand, had fallen asleep out of pure boredom, snoring loudly. I just leaned back in my seat and jammed to Graystar's latest hits on my CD player. Before I knew it, we'd arrived at our destination.

"Jeez, Neutron! I was just kiddin'! Can't ya take a joke??" I teased. I then turned to Sheen and asked, "Don't ya have yo' UltraLord video game to keep ya busy?!"
"Oh, yeah! I forgot about that!" Sheen realized aloud, and pulled out his game and started playing it.
I looked over at Cindy, and saw that she was silently flirting with Jimmy, even though he had no clue she was. She made bunny ears on him with her fingers as she sat behind him while he was piloting the hovercar, giggling to herself quietly. I considered that for a bit, then I did the same thing to Sheen, whom I happened to be sitting behind, giggling to myself.
But, apparently, I wasn't quiet enough about it, because he turned around and questioned, "Okay, who's doin' that?!"
I immediately blushed and admitted, "Sheen, that was me, honey."
"Oh, okay. As long as it wasn't Cindy!" he told me, and turned to face the front of the hovercar, refocusing on his video game.
Cindy, however, persisted with teasing Jimmy, until he finally noticed what she was up to and politely requested, "Sweetie, could you stop so I can drive, please?"
"Sure thing, my little hunkmuffin!" she responded sweetly.
Surprised, I thought, Hunkmuffin?! Okay, I'm officially astounded!! Looks like the potion is slowly becoming permanent! We'd better hurry up with finding and creating that antidote!
About an hour later, Sheen started to ask the same old question as before: "Are we there YET?!" As drawn to him as I was at the time, that question being repeated over and over was starting to get on my nerves. I looked at the built-in GPS system towards the front of the hovercar and saw that we were currently in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina. With a sigh, I told him firmly, "No, we're not there yet, sweetie. Did ya forget abouty yo' video game?"
"Kinda... Yeah," he admitted, and started playing it again.
Carl, on the other hand, had fallen asleep out of pure boredom, snoring loudly. I just leaned back in my seat and jammed to Graystar's latest hits on my CD player. Before I knew it, we'd arrived at our destination.

Chapter 17: The Outskirts of Boston
(Sheen's POV)
When we got there, all I saw was a bunch of woodland area, which, as can be imagined, made me more bored than I ever have been. Everyone except me and Carl got out of the hovercar and looked around. Jimmy apparently saw this and gently commanded, "Carl, Sheen, get out of there and help us look!"
We both got out and started searching for that red plant with the weird name.
Just then, Carl thought he found something, and plucked it out of the ground. It was a shiny 3-leafed plant of some sort. Something told me that the plant shouldn't be touched, but I couldn't remember why. I just ignored it and looked around some more. He brought it to him with a proud expression on his face. Jimmy's face turned pale for a split-second when he saw it, then he informed Carl, "Carl, drop that immediately!! That's poison ivy!!!"
"That would explain the itching feeling!" Carl realized aloud, scratching himself vigorously after dropping the plant.
"Oh, yeah! I just remembered that you're not supposed to touch poison ivy!" I pointed out, looking over at Carl and Jimmy.
"I thin he already figured that out, Sheen!" Jimmy told me, rolling his eyes, then added informatively, "It's also important that you don't touch anyone until the reaction subsides, Carl."
"Okay, Jim," Carl agreed, giving him a thumbs-up :thumbsup: , then asked, "Hey, Jimmy? Do you have any ointment for poison ivy rashes?"
"Yep! Here's some!" he said, pulling some out of his hypercube and handing it to Carl. He rubbed it in and instantly got a relieved look on his face as he handed the ointment back to Jimmy, who put it back into the hypercube.
"Hey, Cindy? Have you found the plant yet, dear?" Jimmy wanted to know.
"No, not yet, honey," she replied with a sigh, "It's a rare plant, so it'll probably take a while to find it."
"That's probably true," Libby put in.
"Think Goddard could find it quicker than we could on our own?" I interjected.
"For once, that's a brilliant idea, Sheen!" she complimented me, then turned to Jimmy and asked, "What do you think, Neutron?"
"That's a great idea! Why didn't I think of that?!" he exclaimed, playfully slapping his forehead :rolleyes: . He then paged Goddard on his watch, who bounded out of the hovercar and ran over to his master's side. Then he instructed, "Goddard, locate the nearest wildiferous florididii, please!"
Goddard barked and displayed the plant's nearest locations on his screen, along with the distance we'd have to travel to get there. The nearest one was approximately 10 miles from our current location, so we used the hovercar to get to it.
Once there, we proceeded to get out of the hovercar and search for it.
"I forget. What color is the plant we're searching for?" I wanted to know.
"For the last time, Ultra-Dork, it's red! Jeez!!" Cindy protested, groaning and slapping her forehead. <_<
"Oh, yeah! Thanks, Cindy!" I thanked her.
"Whatever," she muttered, rolling her eyes. <_<
Suddenly, Goddard barked and acted like a pointer hound and struck that pose, as if he'd found something.
"Good boy, Goddard!" Jimmy congratulated him, patting him on his head Then he plucked the flower out of the ground and stored it in his hypercube for safe keeping.
We clambered back into the hovercar and Jimmy started it up. But, before we could leave, we heard some evil laughter in the distance, immediately followed by a steel cage that came from above out of nowhere and surrounded us, trapping us and leaving us with nowhere to go.
"Whoever did this, come out of hiding and show yourself this instant!!" Jimmy demanded in a loud voice. :angry:
The villain stepped out of the shadows and revealed himself to be...
OOOOOOO!!!!! Cliffhanger!!!! Who exactly IS it?? You'll just have to wait and see!!!!!!! :onfire:
