One thing that really annoyed me was all of Nav's "language," though. It made the whole chapter seem really out of character to me. He IS an OC though, so there isn't really an "in-character" that I can picture, lol... other than that I LOVED it. Update soon!

I always try to keep obscene language out of in my stories, even when the situations are so dire that they would most CERTAINLY inspire swearing in real life.

However, I wanted this chapter to actually CALL OUT swearing, as it were. It was pointed out and commented upon by Sheen and Nav, which makes it serve a function in the story (as opposed to profanity for profanity's sake). Furthermore, I feel like Nav is a character who would swear his bloody lungs out - he's already holding back for the kids' sake.

I already cut out some of what was originally in the chapter. I know that if I were in that situation, I'd be swearing like there was no tomorrow. Remember, these characters are 21 and have spent much of their lives hanging out with criminals. It's amazing that they don't spout filth on a regular basis.

P.S. I updated my Neutron Knights story. Huzzah.

I hardly even noticed the language. Swearing doesn't really bother me, unless a person is near me in real life and just swearing for the sake of swearing. The only swear that really bothers me is the f word. I only say it if I can't let out my anger sufficiently in any other way.

But yeah, the fact that they're 21 makes sense. Once people are in like, 8th grade they start swearing bloody murder every single day. In my town, at least.

I am a swearer.

I totally agree that for thier age and what they've seen, the three of them are of the same breed as me when it comes to swearing. I get the feeling if not for the kids, every second word would be eff this and shiii that.

I feel that curse words put a certain...emphasis that you can't get otherwise.

And some of them just sound funny when said with the right infliction.

Gwen's a potty mouth, if you haven't noticed, but if it really really bothers someone, I'll try and catch myself.

"What happened to Mary?"

"A tire hit her in the face."

I die laughing every time I hear that joke. It's even funnier because the name he chooses to use at the end is my name.

"SOMEONE SHIT ON THE COATS."

"There's a smell of shit around the perimeter, the vicinity of coats. Leading my to believe someone has shit."

The way Dane Cook sets up his joke so it's like a storyline is amazing. When he hits the best part of the joke (climax that's what she said), I'm CRYING and laughing because good lord he's so funny.

Good God, I know. Like the one about the atheist and the lumberjack. Man, I was laughing through that whole spiel, but then he comes to the part about the Bible and you just KEEL OVER, DYING. Aww, man. He's too rich.
