Guys, I'm gonna come out and play the bitchy moderator for a moment.
It's time to talk about the drama quotient here on IDOJ. Several people have chosen to leave and/or take breaks, and I can't say I blame them. Frankly, The only reason all this drama has been happening is because you guys have been letting it happen. It's been getting the best of you.
While it's very carthartic to discuss your problems and/or complain about a bad day, our discussions have turned into a play-by-play update of all our negative emotions, which needless to say makes the whole topic seem like a rollercoaster ride of problems. It's great that we feel comfortable talking to each other about our cares, worries, and fears, but we cannot abuse this topic of conversation. It makes everyone depressed. We should reserve complaints for when we're having a really, REALLY bad day - otherwise, we just overburden our friends and/or become a perpetual wet blanket.
Now, it's true that bad stuff does happen in our lives, and I'm NOT discouraging you guys from sharing. But honestly, this is getting out of hand. You should all find at least one good thing every day and share that. It'll make you feel better, and it'll brighten other people's day knowing that something nice happened to their friend.
Listen. As far as I know, we all have food, shelter, and people who care about us. True, sometimes our home lives are far from ideal, or we're hurt by a friend, or we get sick, or we worry about the future. But by and large, we are extremely lucky.
So, I encourage you guys to stop wangsting, cut the drama, and just enjoy IDOJ for what it is - a fun place to hang out with fun people and escape from the often harsh world of reality. There's nothing wrong with getting support when you need it, but you shouldn't unload on people on a daily basis. Save it for when it's really important. This goes for EVERYONE. Understand?
I'm considering making a new topic called the "whine and gripe topic", where we can confine this sort of negative ranting. To counter it, I'd also create a "thank God I have food and water" topic, where people can post about good stuff in their lives. That way, nobody will be forced to slog through pages upon pages of sad updates to find one good one. Thoughts?

Maybe you're right, though. Although I would like to start a "thank God I have food and water" topic.

And 3 cheers for Pigquet who, despite being one of the few people on here with a legitimate reason to complain, always manages to see the bright side.
You're an inspiration, babe. I've always been a bit of a pessimist, but the longer I live the more I attempt to change my attitude. It's not easy, and I have my bad days, but derned if I don't keep tryin' :bock:

I'm a total brat, yeah, but there really isn't any reason for me to come on here than to bitch. It's not like you guys give a flying shit about Jimmy Neutron anymore...
But seriously. heck knows I can't go to my family with my feelings. And it'd be too weird if I went up to my irl friends with it, cause we don't really talk about our homelives ever. We just kinda hang out to forget.
If I keep it inside, I start all PMSing and argue over the stupidest things. Usually, this ends up bad. It's like a cycle.
And being able to bitch here was like, a detour off that cycle. Now that I'm not really allowed to anymore...what's the point of being on here anyway?
Sure I was leaving anyway, but now I think I'm gonna do it a bit sooner.
No offense guys, but take the poles out of your asses.

I sincerely cannot fathom your reasoning. Probably because I'm the root of this random "drama" or whatever.
I haven't seen any drama since I've been back, besides the thing between you and Ringo. And I don't even know what that was ABOUT, but apparently it was enough to get her to run away from here.

Gwen, believe me when I say that nobody else on this forums understands the situation with your father more than I do.
Also believe me when I say that a lot of the stuff that has happened to you recently definitely falls under the category of "really, REALLY bad day".
This suggestion wasn't directed at you, and if something's really bothering you, please share. I'm merely suggesting that, as a general trend, we try to refrain from bombarding each other with every little bad detail that goes on. Ya, if something sucky happens, post about it. But I feel that - again, as a trend - we've been wallowing in our own misery a little too much.
It's great to support one another, but we should try to have some fun too. Otherwise, what's the point?

*to herself* What I wouldn't give to see Sheen be a real, live person. We need the funny.

One thing that really annoyed me was all of Nav's "language," though. It made the whole chapter seem really out of character to me. He IS an OC though, so there isn't really an "in-character" that I can picture, lol... other than that I LOVED it. Update soon!
