Uhh, I just watched Nightmare in Retroville. And.. i thought it was kinda funny that one of the "monsters" that was available on the monster wheel when Hugh spins is looks a LOT like Micheal Jackson.
...lol, Jimmy though't he'd be a good Halloween Monster..

Hey, this is a nice topic. I'm pretty new here and was just reading through it.
-Snazzorific!
Here's an obscure reference that I don't think has been mentioned. Jimmy's computer is named Vox, which is Latin for "Voice."
-She strikes me as being a little like Hal too, only not so mean.
There it is!

I don't know if it belongs here, but I thought I'd mention another little tidbit.
In the Incredible Shrinking Town, Hugh and Judy go to the Drive-In in a toy car. Its really their television. The old movie showing is a 1939 film of Gulliver's Travels, done by Max Fleischer, of Popeye and Betty Boop fame.
There it is.

You're absolutely right, Crash_7. I was going to mention those Superman cartoons, as well as Popeye and Betty Boop, but I thought it too obscure.

Here's another thing I just noticed, that I don't think I've seen yet.
-I read through all the posts but there are so many of them!
In "A Beautiful Mine," the holographic camp bus that disguises Jimmy Neutron's rocketship looks exactly like the bus from an old television show called "The Partridge Family." They were a singing/touring family. And their bus did say "Caution: Nervous Mother Driving" on the back. It was colored the same too.
Cya!

Also, the music at the beginning of the episode sounds a lot like "Mars" by Gustav Holst.
Just thought I'd point these out. ;)

Here's an obscure reference I found on TV.com.
-I'd give credit to whoever noted it, but I think TV.com's entries are anonymous.
-In any event, I can't find the author.
Its about a reference in The Tomorrow Boys.
I quote: "The thing Future Libby wears on her head is similar to the headdress the Hindu god Shiva, Destroyer of Worlds, wears. Either that or it's a bunch of Ls that stand for Libby."
Mind you, I think this is too obscure to be true.
-I can't help but feel, "Maybe its just a goofy looking crown."
There it is.

Yeah it's absolutely Aku's headgear XDI think that's legit. To me, her headgear looked similar to Aku from Samurai Jack. And I think his look was based on Shiva.
That was the first thing I thought of when I saw The Tomorrow Boys
...Scary, my name means goddess in Hindu... and Shiva is a hindu Goddess :ph43r:

I can't confirm if the headgear's from Shiva, though! I've personally never seen him wearing any Aku/Future Libby-esque crazythings. Then again, I've never really researched Hinduism because research makes me fall asleep. I see enough of him, though, and for the record, Shiva is both destroyer and rejuvenator and one of the supreme Hindu gods, so I don't think anyone evil'd be based on him. The religious Hindus might notice the connection and get mad. 8B
As for Aku, as far as I know he was based on some sort of mythological Japanese dragon. I don't see why traces of Indian mythology'd be included in his character design, but hey, what do I know?

Here's another little reference that I don't think has been mentioned.
-I have to give credit to TV.com again. That's where I first read about it.
-Is it legit to add those things here? I dunno, but here it is.
In Love Potion 976-J Sheen says something to Libby on there date that's very much like "Oh bringer of pain and delight."
-That's an original Star Trek reference.
-From an episode I've never seen but heard about called "Spock's Brain." It is supposed to be an awful episode. Alien men on a planet refer to women as "givers of pain and delight."
Who knew?
That's it!

In Out, Darn Spotlight!
When the school is being taken up by the tornado... there is a cow that goes by.
Which is an allusion to the Cow that goes by in the movie "Twister".
...and... .did anyone notice that the twister itself was suddenly based over like..southern chile?? ... thats a FAST twister, from the US to south america in a few seconds.
