Very good, Star! That kicky little jazz piano piece is called "Linus and Lucy". It was written by Vince Guaraldi and performed by The Vince Guaraldi Trio. I couldn't find and .mp3 of it online, but here's a pretty good midi version you can listen to: Linus and Lucy

The episode title "Trading Faces - A Mind is a Terrible Thing Two Ways" is a reference to the motto for the United Negro College Fund. Their motto, which is always used in their commercials, is "A mind is a terrible thing to waste."

Uhm....in Science Fair Affair (I thinkz....) Libby says something about a band called "Savage Lunch" which is obviously a reference to the band "Savage Garden". Am I correct?

If not, blah...

I noticed a reference in "Attack of the Twonkies" that I think has been used in other episodes as well. When Jimmy fires up his rocket, sometimes he says "Atomic batteries to power, turbines to speed." In the old Batman TV series, Robin used to say that when they were starting up the Batmobile.

is a reference to "The Wizard of Oz". When Dorothy's house was picked up by the tornado, she saw lots of people she knew flying past the window. One of them was the old hag on her bicycle who would turn out to be the wicked witch in Oz. Notice another clever little detail. Carl's squirrel buddy is in the basket of the bike. :) Sorry I couldn't get a better picture.

Also, Crouching Jimmy, Hidden Sheen is a refrence to some movie... Darn memory blackouts. Its like Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, or something like that.

Oh, and let's not forget this one:
Tee, the alien bandit-Mr.Tee, the I Pity the Fool guy (I don't know what else to refrence him by)

Yeah, it was "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon". Perhaps the most overrated movie of all time. :) The alien bandit is just "T". The guy with the Mohawk that T is doing an impression of is Mr. T of "Rocky III" and "The A Team" fame. Travoltron is an impression of John Travoltra and Zix is an impression of Jon Lovitz from SNL, "The Critic", and those Subway (Eat fresh!!!!) comercials.

I caught an interesting reference in this afternoon's airing of "The Evil Beneath". Two of Dr. Moist's algae men are named Nipsey and Russell. Nipsey Russell was an actor/comedian best known for countless appearances as a celebrity panelist on game shows in the 60's and 70's. Here's more about Nipsey Russell. I see that he died in 2005. Since "The Evil Beneath" is a late season 3 episode, I think it's probable that his name was put in there as a tribute after his death.

I thought that was a reference to ET or something...

Bet none of you caught this one. In Operation Rescue Jet Fusin, Carl and Sheen are taken a peaceful utopia called Shangri Llama. This is a reference to a peaceful utopia in the movie Lost Horizon, which was called Shangri La. It can also be noted that Sheen and Carl give a Vulcan salute evry once in a while. Also in lady sings the news, Corky says he is going to make a show called everybody loves sock puppet. This is an obvious play on everybody loves raymo  nd.

In Party at Neutrons when Sheen says "Me thinks the lady doth protest too much," That's a quote from Hamlet.

In Lights, Camera, Danger! Quentin Smithee is trying to convince Jimmy to not hire other actors and says something along the lines of "Cindy IS Princess Butterface!" A butterface is a slang used by (obnoxious) guys that describes a woman with a nice body but an ugly face, like "everything is fine but-her-face." Butterface. I'm not sure if they actually put that there on purpose or not.

I'm sure the "Butterface" name was quite intentional. :)

The death of James Brown got me thinking. Wasn't there a scene in some episode where some character was singing or something and he dropped to his knees and another character came out and placed a cape or blanket over his shoulders? Or am I thinking of some other cartoon.

Yes. I remember that it was T that did this in "League of Villians". He was even singing part of the James Brown song "Please, Please, Please" when he did it. This little ritual was performed at the end of virtually every James Brown concert. Brown would drop to his knees in apparrent exhaustion at the end of the song and a crew member would come out and drape his famous "Godfather of Soul" cape over his shoulders. And, of course, then he would do several encores. :)

Yep. So deep that I missed it the first time. The only reason I recalled this reference was because of all the stories and tributes about James Brown the last couple of days. One article I read mentioned the cape-draping ritual and a light bulb came on in my head. :)
