The episode title "Out, Darn Spotlight" is a parody of a line from Macbeth (the original one, not the "in space" one :)) Lady Macbeth, haunted by her guilty conscience after a murder, has these sleepwalking nightmares. She wonders around the castle muttering, "Out, d*** spot!" trying to wipe imagined blood stains from her hands.

(Bummer. Can't even quote Shakespeare here.)

I knew that MacBeth was a play by Shakespeare, but I thought the "Out, Darn Spotlight!" was just something cute the folks at JN headquarters came up with. That's pretty cool.

The Holy Grail/killer rabbit reference in "Win, Lose and Kaboom".

Speaking of "Win, Lose and Kaboom", I can't believe I haven't mentioned this one yet. Vandanna from WLK is is a robotic version of Vanna White, longtime game show model/letter-turner-girl from "Wheel of Fortune".

Yeah, Vandanna also did that "touch the screen and change" thing when Team Earth was going against the Gorlocks the first time. Also, later, shen she went all Incredible Hulk on us, she went, "Who wants to buy a vowel?!"

The alien lifeform in "Who's Your Mommy" is a knock-off of the movie "Alien". At least it is with its method of propagation. A face-hugger thingy bursts out of an egg, attaching itself to whoever is in range. After the face-hugger dies off, it leaves an alien growing inside the person it attacked. Luckily for Carl, it came out of a growth on his backside rather than bursting out through the chest cavity in a very painful and fatal fashion as the creature in "Alien" did.

Has anyone gotten the feeling that Evil Jimmy is a Batman reference?

It's definitely a Jack Nicholson reference. Whether it's Jack Nicholson as The Joker, I don't know. Maybe.

Besides the title being a reference to the Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan movie, "Sleepless in Seattle", there's a good computer reference in "Sleepless in Retroville". When Carl messes up Jimmy's Slumbertron 9000, it displays a classic Windows "Blue Screen of Death".

Jimmy must have been using Millenium Edition.

In the second adventure of the NanoBots, Return of the NanoBots, one of them say "Quid pro quo" while in jail. Quid pro quo is a phrase meaning "a favour for a favour."

Danny: The use of that phrase was another Hannibal Lecter reference. He used that expression in "The Silence of the Lambs".

Gwen: Really, the only similarity I see between Jet and James Bond is that they're both spies. They seem like quite different personalities. Beautiful Gorgeous, on the other hand, is definitely a reference to a lot of James Bond femmes fatale. They all had exotic, sometimes even erotic sounding names. There's a couple of them whose names I couldn't even post on this board without getting censored. :)

LOL

Yeah, and the title of the movie is familiar.

Jet F. - Die Again Forever Tomorrow (I think...)
James B. - Die Another Day

In "Crouching Jimmy, Hidden Sheen", the scene where Master Han tells Sheen to snatch the pebble from his hand is a reference to the 70's TV show, "Kung Fu". In the pilot for that show, when the young Kwai Chang Caine is taken in by the Shaolin, a similar scene occurs between Caine and Master Kan.

"Quickly as you can, snatch the pebble from my hand." The young Caine tries and fails. "When you can take the pebble from my hand, it will be time for you to leave."

I was watching "The Eggpire Strikes Back" tonight (my second favorite of the feature-length shows) and caught a quick and clever reference to "A Charlie Brown Christmas".

Here's a couple of kids dancing near the end of TESB:

And here's a couple of kids doing the exact same moves in ACBC:

Bonus points if you can name the song the Charlie Brown kids were dancing to. Yes, that piece does have a name.
