Oh boy, I have my work cut out for me at some parts.

This is what happens when you rewrite the same section 25 times and forget where you put people and why you put them there. Sloppy, sloppy.

Yes, I do believe I shall ...when I get home. I've been conscripted to help my idiot brother with his homework again . He's in high school now, and desperately in need of a tutor. We can't afford to PAY for one, and I am right here...but still. It took me two hours last time to teach him 25 simple spelling words. I know this experience is probably giving me a lesson in patience or compassion or something, but it's really frustrating to a person like me who could effortlessly memorize 25 words in five minutes. And the poor kid never even learned basic division or fractions, and they've thrown him right into algebra, despite what his IEP says.

I've got my work cut out for me this semester

There was SO much going on in this chapter...but poor Aurora, were you trying to crush her spirit? I wanted to cry every time there was a scene focused on her. MEAN!

Just a quick question:
**The main doors creak as she pushes them open, and the usual sights and smells of Shangri Llama greet her: the fragrance of plum blossoms and incense, and the airy comfort of houses whose windows never close. He follows her in, oblivious to all the beauty waiting for him on the other side**

Was that last little bit, "the other side", a reference to the title of the fanfic? Cause that paragraph was cool. I love how he was oblivious to the beauty of the setting because he was focused on her beauty instead

OMG, TOSOT is actually ending... that's so strange... for the past 5 years of my life, I've been reading this fanfic, always checking if there's an update or something... it will be really weird when it's over

I like the chapter, but doesn't seem like an almost-ending to me... there're so many conflicts to be solved! Future Jimmy x Aurora (I'm desperate to see more of them together) , April x Aurora... It would be nice to have some kind of a closure.

OMG, TOSOT is actually ending... that's so strange... for the past 5 years of my life, I've been reading this fanfic, always checking if there's an update or something... it will be really weird when it's over

How do you think I'll feel? I've been WRITING it for the past 5 years! It's been a constant fixture in my life through high school, college, and post-college, across different states and in whole different countries. I honestly don't know what I'll do with myself when it's done. It's going to be really, really hard to say goodbye to these characters, who've I've grown so attached to over the years

I like the chapter, but doesn't seem like an almost-ending to me... there're so many conflicts to be solved! Future Jimmy x Aurora (I'm desperate to see more of them together) , April x Aurora... It would be nice to have some kind of a closure.

Fear not, there's at least 15+ pages to go...don't expect closure for April and Aurora, though, cause I'm a jerk like that... :/

And I'm a little disappointed that I missed the TWSS joke. I'll have to reread it later and look for it specifically. Also, I'm glad FS's condition isn't so bad that he can't be with FL. But I think some of my suggestions would have fit equally as well.

I say when TOSOT finally ends, we throw a crazy ass party celebrating this milestone in our lives.

I can't even imagine what the end of TOSOT will mean to you, Mara... I love writing too, but I was never able to finish even one of my stories, so my characters are always talking to each other in my head, giving me new possibilities... ending this would be hard for me (though I hope I'll be able to do it someday)

But I know that you'll find new stories to be told, with new unforgetable characters! So when you publish your book, please tell everybody here in IDOJ, so I can buy it on Amazon, 'cause there's no way I'm gonna read your book in Portuguese! I'll want the original hahahaha

I'm glad Future Libby is planning to train herself to be more offensive. About time, even though she seems to be bad at it. It would be interesting to see the outcome of training in shangri llama.

I also liked the outcome of what Jimmy told Future Sheen about his condition. I'm actually kinda glad that he can never be cured, but will take time for him to fully control of himself. I also liked how him and Future Libby will have to wait till they get married, and Future Sheen's comment of what they'll be like when they actually do get married.

And I admit that I did think it was sweet when the two actually kissed. Aurora seems jealous...of what exactly?

Aurora discovering that April left was quicker than expected, but her reaction was pretty sad along with when Future Libby left.

I can't wait to see what Future Jimmy does to send the kids back, and what Aurora and Future Jimmy decide to do with their lives.

I second every BIT of this!!! Awesome chapter, as always, Mara!! I thought it was especially cute- no, H-A-W-T, when FL and FS had that "miniature love fest". haha And I love Aurora's reaction when she saw them; I bet she was thinking, "WTF?!" I'd have said the same thing: "Get a room, you 2."

I wonder how FJ figured out how to send the kids back... Knowing him, it'll be totally state-of-the-art, hi-tech, and futuristic!! I LOVE that kinda stuff!!!

Hey, it may take a couple years, but at least FS can be with FL while he's training to control himself better. That's so sweet.

The description of the observation deck was totally EPIC!! I'd have loved to have been there; it would be like you're floating in space without needing a spacesuit!

Overall, it was an EPIC chapter, Mara, and I look forward to the last one with eager anticipation!!

I don't think Aurora was jealous, per se, I just think it brought up some personal issues for her. Firstly, in their previous conversation FL said that FS wouldn't "even be getting a kiss" until he learned to control himself better. But then poof, what happens? She finds the two of them macking on each other in the hallway. Aurora probably wondered why FL...I dunno, went back on her word and rushed things?

Secondly, I imagine that Aurora was feeling rather horrible about her own romantic experiences, or lack thereof (depending on how you interpret her relationship with DJ). The teensy-weensy part of Aurora that longs for romantic love was probably wondering why she wasn't desirable enough to be kissed (not by FS, but in general). When she touches her own lips, she visualizes her fingers crumbling, which is supposed to convey her deep-seated ambivalence about her own desires, as well as the fact that she conflates love and destruction. **Freud**

I wanted it to feel like it was all happening really quickly, so that the losses would pile up on Aurora super fast and make her subsequent head-on-dashboard breakdown more believable.
Also, I just needed to get them out of there. I can't really focus on their side of the story anymore, there's just not room/time

Then I'm going to rush out the front door and sprint down the street, screeching "I'm done!!!" at the top of my lungs and scaring all the neighbors half to death. Then I'm going to charge back inside and dial some poor hapless person on the phone and blab their ear off about how excited I am until they finally hang up on me.

THEN I'm going to update every internet venue in existence with news of my triumph. You shall all hear about it, ad nauseum

Then I'm gonna take 100 bucks and go on a shopping spree.

I'm sure Aurora and FJ will find ways to pass the time.
