Soooo... Critical Role started a horror campaign called Candela Obscura. It is based on their game system called the Illuminated Worlds system.

 

It's sort of... paranormal investigation with magic, creepy monsters, gothic creeping horror, and secret societies. It is literally so effing cool.

 

I am utterly obsessed with how the gameplay works, the cool set, the costumes, the characters, the music.. just everything.

 

Here's the theme from the soundtrack:

 

 

Seriously, if you are into RP and horror, I am having such a great time and would VERY much recommend it.

Adding a note: please be aware this is a horror series. There is intense scenes, blood, unsettling imagery… all that stuff.

It's so fun listening to Vox Machina again. I'm noticing things I missed the first time.

 

But I re-listened to the second episode of the first circle of Candela yesterday, which was fun. It's so friggin' eerie, and yet not so eerie that it's overly graphic. Although, I did end up having a nightmare last night, LOL

i know literally no one else cares about this, but I'm listening to the next chapter of candela obscura. i only have one episode left and it's ALREADY been wild so far. I truly love the horror/ mystery/ secret society vibes of this show. I can't make it through an episode without getting LITERAL goosebumps.
