Trying to get The Hunger Games under my belt before it gets popular again in March because of movie release.
Aghh. Overly-popular book series make me sad. ):

The Help.
It was very good and an easy read. If you can get past the fact that a white woman is writing it (which I just thought was weird) it's interesting and captivating.

I loved that book when I read it in tenth grade. Apparently most people don't like it, though
I was surprised, because my whole class loved it and so did I. And I normally hate assigned reading.

I read that in high school, too. I thought it was okay, not SUPER-good, but descent. It's just the idea of young boys lost on a deserted island makes me not like it that much, not as much as I loved My Side of the Mountain that I read sometime while I was in my middle school years, or perhaps elementary school...Now THAT one's a good read, and I suggest that anyone read it who's interested, hasn't read it yet, or both!

Just finished Railsea by China Miéville...it was so creative, but so strange. I felt like I was high the entire time I was reading it.

I finished Cinder by Marissa Meyer last Friday, and its sequel Scarlet last night. Loving them! I can't wait for the third and fourth books to come out. But I have to wait a year for Cress
And I can't figure out from the title which new fairy tale will be explored. It was easy to guess with Cinder (Cinderella) and Scarlet (Little Red Riding Hood). But Cress? hmmmm...
Basically, if you like sci-fi and you like fairy tale retellings, read these. She takes the fairy tales, strips them to the bare bones, and combines them with cyborgs, androids, moon people, and interplanetary warfare. I had so many feelings this past weekend reading them. SO MANY.

read The Iceman based on the true story of Richard Kuklinski, a cold blooded killer without any real MO and the cop who goes undercover to try to catch him. It was a brilliant read.
totally recommended.
