I also find that my graduate studies have made it hard to enjoy or concentrate on fiction. I get way more excited about reading non-fiction? Which is great and all but I'd love to have the capability to sit down and read a romance again for the first time in ages lol

That's interesting! I mean, non-fiction is really important. I really need to read more. Wanna switch for a bit? ;)

In all seriousness, I'm sorry, that sounds frustrating!

I'd be happy to switch. I miss finding joy in books without dense titles like "Solidarity, Democracy and the Future of Europe" lol

It is so amusing that sometimes I know what kind of a book a book will be just based on descriptions of characters and am just like.. “I don't have patience for this right now.”

Also, it’s very strange because I can enjoy romantasy. I mean, it’s me! Romance and fantasy? Yes please!!! I know I can really enjoy popcorn fiction. But then other times it’s like NOPE.

And I have yet to figure out what causes each reaction. It is just slightly confusing/ frustrating.

Currently reading American Prometheus: the Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer, and it's got me hooked. Further proof that I can only enjoy dense tomes these days, lol

Mostly it's just because I'm currently hyper-fixating on the Oppenheimer movie with Cillian Murphy lol. He's so pretty!!! Bluest eyes I ever saw

One of the busiest times of the year .. fighting the temptation to sink into a slump….

My ridiculous brain:

“Let’s read Words of Radiance!”

This will end well.

Ya know, if a book is longer than a few hundred pages, even if it's a topic I'm super interested in, I tend to lose my interest in that particular one... ^^;

Hahaha a big reason why I go audiobook on that series. The physical books are too unwieldy and uncomfortable to read and I don't have an eReader so the ebooks wouldn't be good to read on just my phone. Also Michael Kramer is just an outstanding book narrator.
