Freaking hilarious! I love it! I think the reason I love this line is because I can hear myself saying that to a certain friend of mine.

This is the greatest thing Tex could have said at this point. c: It was magnificently placed. The tension between these two is enough to make a good story on its own.
Tex is such an interesting character, as I've said a million times before. xD; Her flaws and weaknesses are original and perfectly crafted. Great job!

Up until this point, Tex had been so confident and I like how she isn't as much. Which is really rather funny because at the end of the chapter, she still seemed so determined to allow Sheriff to outdo her, it's amusing.

When I set that joke up last chapter with the mahogany desk thing, I had no idea whether people would find it funny or not. Success!

I made it up, but I tried to make it sound like one of those pieces of "folk wisdom" people might've said in the olden days Of course, it was all part of my ultimate character-building goal...I wanted to describe how Tex noticed his apparent lack of fear without simply saying "derp Tex noticed he held his hands steady and was kinda jazzed up by the whole thing lol".

Like Emily, I'm scheming. There are so many possibilities! But me thinks Sheriff isn't so innocent as he seems.
