I'm gonna see if I can get a good wifi signal and watch it on Nick.com on the train on Saturday. If not, I'll just have to wait until I'm home. And maybe I can find a time and watch it on our new TV. Korra on 55 inch flat screen loveliness. I can't wait!

In fact...I'll probably watch it on our new TV even if I can get it on the train. Just to see what it looks like on a nice screen.

But seriously, I nearly lost it when they flashed by Sokka, Toph, and Aang as adults. The tears. I could barely hold them back.

And online today, I've just been staring at their screencaps. It makes me want to cry.







This is the genius of Avatar. These characters...I feel like I know them. More than know them, they feel like my friends. It's like seeing pictures of my real life friends, forty years down the line, and realizing I missed so much of their life. And then knowing that they've passed away in ways I don't even know about.

Oh god. Not going to cry. Keep it together, Katie.

I'm really enjoying The Legend of Korra, but the only things that have made me emotional so far are these glimpses to the past characters. I'm sure I'll get attached to the new characters in time (especially Bolin). I really enjoy the new characters, I just haven't seen enough half-hours of this show yet to be as invested in them.

So yeah. I dare anyone to go look into the eyes of Aang's brief screenshot for more than ten seconds and not get teary.

The stupid Amtrak wifi keeps either blocking the websites I wanna watch it on or not loading them at all. I gotta wait until I get home and the episode is put up on nick.com or something. Either that, or wait until tomorrow at 11:30 to watch it, which I'll probably still do, anyway.

Aang is hot for like a 40 year old

How did I feel about today's episode?
1) Amon's voice just keeps getting more delicious
2) Korra is in way over her head politically speaking
3) Tenzin flies like a bat through the night
4) TOTALLY CALLED THE LOVE RHOMBUS and I am one of only like 3 people in the entire fandom who ships Bolin x Korra

I was like "why does she sleep with her shoes on? That's so weird!"

Then I remembered that the Gaang did that in the original series literally like every night, even if they were staying in someone's house. There's maybe two or three instances total where that isn't the case.

Also: I do not actively ship Korra x Bolin, but I still like it. I saw the episode today and decided that I would be happy no matter which bro got Korra, because Mako also has Asami and if Mako gets Korra...well, Bolin can get Asami if that ends up working out.

I LOVE KorraxBolin. I definitely like it better than Makorra. But the show just started, I'm waiting until at least season two to commit to a particular ship.

And Tenzin. OMG. Every time he shows up he does something fantastic with his clothes. EVERY TIME. And I always go. "OMG. DAT CAPE."

I agree that Korra is in waaay over her head. But as the show goes on, I'm loving how Bryke have created a completely new Avatar, with her own set of inner conflicts to overcome and her own set of lessons to learn. Aang had to grow up too fast and then accept his role as the Avatar. Korra, on the other hand, has been sheltered and NEEDS to grow up. She feels entitled to her authority without having the wisdom to back it up. She also has to live up to Aang's legacy, which is daunting. She has to come to terms with being the Avatar HER way, and not just trying to be another Aang.

I am fascinated with the Equalists. Because they have a freaking valid point. Everyone is just going about it the wrong way.
