A MESSAGE TO EVERYONE

OK, it's time to address some stuff that's been going on here on IDOJ.

1) I agree that I ended the slap topic too abruptly, and I'm sorry. I probably SHOULD have given you guys the heads up, but to be honest, I had NO idea it would upset so many people. I thought it would be easier on everyone if the topic just closed and we started a new one. But I certainly didn't do it without consideration - I made sure NOT to delete it, just in case - so I hope you guys aren't too peeved at me.

2) As some of you may know, Snazzo's decided to take some time off. I'm sorry if you're mad at me, Snazzo. I really haven't deleted THAT many of your posts, you know. I'm sorry if you feel singled out. I know recently you've been mad at me for not responding to your PM's, but please, try to understand - just because I don't have time to write back doesn't mean I'm shunning you or ignoring you.

When I DID delete your posts or change your signature, it certainly wasn't to be mean to you. Because most of the people on this site are underage, I have to try to watch out for them. And well, you do have a habit of being very flirtatious with underage girls. I KNOW it's not fair to you, and I'm sorry, but unfortunately I have to make difficult decisions as moderator - decisions that have the potential to make me really unpopular. I know I'm not always right, but I do my best. I've tried to be fair, tried to be lenient - please keep in mind that I don't HAVE to be. I could save myself the trouble and just ban anyone who's giving me problems.


3) To all IDOJers - I really hope you guys don't think I'm abusing my power. It's really hard to balance being friends with everyone and still being in charge of them. Being the admin isn't easy - but I feel like a do a good job of it 98% of the time.
Just keep in mind that you guys are pretty lucky - I mean, I could be just a blank face, an absolute authority deleting, banning, and making rules without another word. But I really do TRY to get your opinions on things. I try to make everyone happy. It's not easy.


Because we're such a small community, drama spreads quickly and affects everyone. So please, for the sake of SANITY, try to keep the drama to a minimum. Keep things in perspective, guys. This IS a Jimmy Neutron site. We're here because we share an interest in the show and because we've grown to become friends. So let's not let something silly send us into a downward spiral, OK?

In all fairness, it's been awhile since the last !crisis on IDOJ, (you know, when everyone decided to hate everyone else, and Gwen and Krista decided to stop being friends, yadda yadda) and I'm proud of you guys for staving off the drama as long as you have. If you remember, the last time something like this happened, I reminded you guys of everything you DO like about the site and about one another. Let's try to hold onto those things, OK?

IDOJ should be a place where we can come to get away from fighting, to get away from bad stuff in our lives. We're all great people, and I know we can make it work if we just smooth our ruffled feathers. You think I never get mad at people? Heck, sometimes I get so annoyed with some of you that I have to actually walk away from the computer for a little bit. But hopefully by doing this, I minimize my rash words.

I hope you all try to do the same. Just back off for a while and take some time to cool down.

Mara, you are an AMAZING admin. We couldn't ask for anyone better. Truly and honestly. :)

A bunch of us who posted frequently in the slap topic were quite surprised at its closing, but understand your motives completely. From the perspective of those who didn't post there often, it would not have looked like an important or worthwhile topic. And I'm pleased that we have a new topic now to carry on the worthwhile parts of the slap topic. I think everything worked out just fine there. Thanks for being patient with us as we had a mass-hyperventilation. :rolleyes: :lol:

This was the most drama I've ever been present for on IDOJ, and I have to say, I am impressed at the effort everyone has made to keep calm and be supportive.

This is a very special place. I am lucky to have found it, and we are all lucky for it to be run in such a caring and understanding manner.

Have you ever read the books by Lloyd Alexander? They are FANTASTIC. It's a wonderful instance of being able to both enjoy the movie and the book series.

I attribute Eilonwy's lack of stardom to the fact that she does not get a musical number. :lol: Otherwise, she RULES.

But, I disagree that it was COMPLETELY pointless. AT times it was pointless spam, and YES it was a spam topic, but not as bad as those things Krista made to get post points a while back. NOW THOSE were jokes I think. They were just little answers, and the slap topic has had some real conversations between individuals, even if it never started out that way.
