Reviving cuz some, like myself, haven't posted their takes on this... Dunno how I never saw this topic... I'll post mine soon when I can think of something for each pairing...

J/C Like: J/C is my all time favorite OTP. In the years since I discovered JN, I've shipped other things, with varying levels of intensity. Merlin/Arthur, Roman/Gerri, Percy/Vex, Vera/Philip, etc. The list goes on. But none of these ships resonate with me the way J/C does because of how much chemistry these two have and because of how amazing I think the fan fiction is for this pairing. Jimmy needs someone who will call him on his BS and not just go along with his every idea because he's a genius. He also needs someone who will challenge him intellectually. Meanwhile, Cindy needs someone who appreciates that she's talented (whether he admits it or not) and shows her kindness. Like many, I buy into the theory that Cindy's home life isn't good, which explains why she acts out as a child sometimes or projects her frustrations onto Neutron. I could go on and on but the other thing I love about this couple is that Jimmy literally puts the stars within Cindy's reach (and this will be hard to beat), and Cindy fuels Neutron to create things and expand his horizons to try things he otherwise wouldn't (aka, the film pitch, sports, etc.)

 

J/C Dislike: These two can be extremely petty to each other. Jimmy doesn't think much about how his inventions will affect other people, and can be incredibly selfish. Cindy can be downright cruel for no real reason, and doesn't know how to get Jimmy's romantic attention without betraying him to Eustace or fighting with him 24/7. But I think as they mature, they will both change for the better. 

 

J/B Like: I like that Betty seems to be kind to Neutron most of the time and doesn't just brush him away the way you'd expect from a popular girl. 

 

J/B Dislike: She and Jimmy have nothing in common, she doesn't seem smart enough to be his girlfriend or long term partner, and she doesn't fit in well with his existing friend group. It seems like she knows about his crush on her and enjoys the attention but doesn't actually commit either way. 

 

J/A Like: I guess they are both loyal and good at heart. And April is clearly invested in a friendship even after the events of WLK. 

J/A Dislike: Cindy is my favorite character and obviously she's not nice a lot of the time, but April was pretty mean to call her 'homely' and imply Neutron doesn't deserve her to her face.  Plus, I think her and Neutron just look weird together visually. Probably bc she's an alien, lol. 

 

J/L Like: I like these two's friendship and enjoy the moments when Libby shows concern or care for Jimmy. For instance, when he bets Goddard and she asks him, "Are you sure you know what you're doing?" Knowing that Cindy has pushed him too far.

 

J/L Dislike: They have no chemistry romantically to me. Also, Libby doesn't give a damn about science, lol. Idk if I enjoy S/L but it's certainly better to me than J/L.

I love this line so much, the J/C silhoutte in somekind of planet with waters fanart comes to mind (I think this was Mara's work but can't find it through a quick search)

It is Mara's work! Unfortunately the only thing I have really good memory for is JN stuff lol.

J/C like:  like others have said before, I love the way Cindy inspires Jimmy to step out of his comfort zone and try new things. Her methods of doing so may not be the best, but they're something. (and hey, they work). I love how they bicker like an old married couple, sometimes for real, and sometimes just for the sake of talking to each other. (like in Stranded) The more they do it, the more ridiculous the argument is, and the more obvious it is they're just trying to do something with each other. 

J/C dislike: they do stupid (more stupid than usual/necessary; mean-spirited) stuff to each other quite a bit. That moment in see Jimmy run, the whole thing in Sorry, Wrong Era, and in Vanishing Act, too. Sometimes it's slightly less funny and slightly more just mean. I love these two to death but still. 

 

J/B like: I ALSO like how Betty makes Jimmy step out of his comfort zone and try new things as well XD. It's nice that  Jimmy has not one but two girls to help him do this. And, let's be honest, Betty does it in a nicer way than Cindy lol   And, y'know, she's nice and supports whatever nonsense he's doing that day. 

J/B dislike: There's not too much I particularly dislike about this ship, but IDK what it is they have in common that would draw me into the ship in the first place. It just seems like more of a standard bout of infatuation on Jimmy's side ( which it is but ykwim)

 

J/A like: April is a really cool character. I like how well she works with Jimmy, and she's clearly a flirt. And Jimmy clearly likes that haha.   

J/A dislike: I don't have anything against the ship itself, but I can't imagine trying to manage it... how often would large space rocks come crashing into Retroville just to be an "i miss you' message from April to Jimmy? Just thinking about it is pretty funny, actually. It's too much of a long distance situation. 

 

J/L like: Libby's got a great personality which is why, in my eyes, I feel like you could ship her with any of the three amigops and I feel like it could work rather nicely. She's reasonable and down-to-earth, plus she keeps things real, all the time. Maybe she could turn Jimmy into a style icon (you never know XD) I could see her and Jimmy having a smooth relationship. 

J/L dislike:  Again, nothing against the ship, they just don't have anything in common. And........ S/L is funnier.
