You know how I'm sick? Well, I figured out how you all can cure me. Read and reply to these two chapters, then go to http://z3.invisionfr...Cindy/index.php? and make a username! Thanks soooo much if you do, and if you don't, well, then, how rude. :P

Chapter V

“Neutron, I—” Jimmy held up a hand.
“One more, yeah, that should do it.” He swiveled his chair around to face Cindy and immediately blushed: Cindy had turned white, and Jimmy knew what that stood for. And instead of turning brown, the color of embarrassment, her hands and feet defaulted to green because of what was going through Cindy’s mind. Oh no, I’m white, he’s gunna think I love him! she fretted. Or worse, he’ll think I’m a total freak!
“Neutron, fix me before I get any worse!” Cindy demanded, forcing the though out of her head.
“Well, I’ve got good news and bad news,” Jimmy admitted.
“Yeah?” Cindy prodded him.
“The bad news is, I haven’t fixed the Rainbow 5000 yet.”
Cindy groaned.
“I’ve been trying though!” he added hastily.
This was true. On Friday Ms. Fowl had threatened to confiscate the gadget, and even Judy Neutron had started to think Jimmy was becoming a little obsessed.
“Good news?”
“Well, every time I tried to rewire the main wires the fuse would blow, so after several attempts I cross-circuited the brown and orange, binding them together. . .” as opposed to Sheen, whose eyes would have glazed over after “well,” Cindy nodded in comprehension. After all, this had been her science project last year. “I experimented on this paper and it worked, but as the ray is two entire molecules away from its original state, I suspect only temporarily.
“So. . . ?”
“So if I attempt to ‘zap’ you again, I can only guarantee you a week.
Cindy stared at the nervous boy in disbelief.
“You don’t think it’ll be finished—completely finished—in a week?”
Jimmy blushed. “It probably will, but of course it’s impossible to know.”
Cindy was slightly relieved. “Okay then, zap me.”
Jimmy raised his eyebrows.
“Zap me!” Cindy repeated.
“You do realize,” he continued, “that if—if—I’m not done in a week, everything that would have happened over seven days would happen all at once? Meaning that if, during that week, your entire body would have slowly turned green, next Saturday at” he checked his watch “exactly eight PM, you would just suddenly turn into the Incredible Hulk?”
This troubled Cindy a somewhat, but she insisted.
“Fine,” Jimmy relented. “Stand up straight, take off your shoes, and spread out your arms.”
Cindy obeyed. Jimmy ran two fingers up and down the rainbow on the pointer of his machine, and after a second, an array of bright colors hit her body and a strange mist of colors surrounded her.
When the vapor disintegrated, Cindy dared to open her eyes. She looked completely normal!
“Thank you, Neutron!” Cindy cried. She felt the urge to hug him but refrained from it. Jimmy reddened.
“Remember, one week,” he warned her.

Chapter VI

Four days later, Cindy was thoroughly enjoying her normal-looking self. Everyone had noticed, of course, that she was no longer a green freak (but Sheen was the only one stupid enough to comment). Even Nick had noticed, but he had been avoiding her since Monday.
Which was why Cindy was so surprised when another illegible, grammatically incorrect note fell on her desk.

Hey, sorry I was avoiding you, but since you look normal now, I guess it really was allergies, so I was thinking, wanna go out again?

Cindy was almost tempted to say no: what if Jimmy’s dumb invention messed her up again and destroyed her chances with Nick forever? Then she saw Jimmy tinkering with the Rainbow 5000 yet again (it must be done by Saturday, she figured) and decided to risk it. It couldn’t be that bad, could it?

Two days later, Cindy wasn’t so sure. If was Friday afternoon, and Jimmy still hadn’t finished his invention. Cindy was starting to worry; she could only imagine what would happen the next day at eight. Not to mention that she was going back to Café Caribe at 7:30, which practically guaranteed her a complete lifetime humiliation. Like, what if Nick was about to kiss her and she suddenly pulled a hulk on him?
Cindy shuddered; the bell rang.
“Neutron, aren’t you done yet?” Cindy wailed.
“I’m trying, but these darn wires just won’t connect!” Jimmy said crossly.
“Look, it better be fixed by tomorrow afternoon, or else!” Cindy growled.

Despite Cindy’s threats, Jimmy still wasn’t done at 7:15 on Saturday, and Cindy wasn’t too happy. This was mostly because, at seven, her nails had started to fade green. Now, ten minutes later, the original strand of hair was the same color.
“Okay, I have to go. Keep working, all right?” Cindy said. Jimmy gave an irritable grunt in response.
Cindy ran in her house and stood in front of her closet, depressed. Then, with a sigh, she pulled out a long sleeved shirt a size to big, extra-large jeans, and black boots that went an inch over her pants. She barely finished changing when a car honked from outside. She ran down the stairs and got to the front door before stopping: one of her mom’s huge black hats. Groaning, she piled all of her hair on the top of her head and pulled the hat over it, so there was no hair or skin showing except her hair, and, in her opinion, she looked like a total freak.
“Why didn’t I just cancel?” Cindy muttered, closing the door.
