Hey! That's how my Cindy Vortex fic was gonna begin!! Nice job.No, it's not the same, extremely lame version as I have on nick.com. I finished re-doing the earlier chapters and decided to finally put it up here. I update this fanfic VERY regularly as well. So, anyways. Enough blabbing, here's the first chapter!
Chapter 1 ~ Pain and Guilt
Cindy stood in stunned silence, as he lay there lifeless.
Libby stood solemnly by her side, tears running down her cheeks when she saw the heart-breaking expression on Cindy's face. She looked shocked and guilty. Like her soul had been ripped out of her. For good reason, as in a way, it had.
I...I never got to say goodbye...I never got to say anything... Cindy thought bitterly as she knelt down beside him. Tears stinging her eyes as she held his cold hand to her damp cheek. Her eyes squeezed shut, tears leaking out.
Libby sat down next to her and hugged her. There was nothing more they could do.
Cindy squeezed his hand, hoping a miracle could happen. But, knowing, in the back of her mind that it was a vain attempt.
When Libby stole a look at Cindy’s tearful, sorrowful, emerald eyes, she knew Cindy would never get over this. Libby knew she probably wouldn't either. More tears came to Libby’s sad brown eyes.
If this was how bad I’m hurtin' then how bad must Cindy be feelin'? I think she really loved him, Libby thought. This can't be the end. It just can't.
Even though I know he’s gone, I can't believe it, Cindy thought. Him of all people. Why him and not me? I deserve it after the way I treated him. Now I half-expect him to wake up and yell, "What's with the waterworks, Vortex? Naptime already?" Then, we'd break out into another word war. I didn't want it to be this way that's just the way it worked out. I will never make the same mistakes I did. Never. I don't care about the competition. I don't want to be the best. Not anymore.
*.*
Although I am a bit worried: what's you fic about?
Mines MAYBE the same as yours? Jimmy dies and Cindy goes into this depression and guilt and somewhat.
Read these and tell me what you mean.

Your welcome. Actually I was a kinda mad at first because I thought you might have seen mine and ripped the plot off of mines. I still am because I thought of this great plot as you might have read it and all but only to find out that you had a similar plot. But for you I'm willing to say sorry for my rude outburst. :bff:Hmm...they are definetly simliar, but in this fic (1) it's Cindy's fault, (2) Jimmy isn't dead, he's in this... dream dimension [I had to make it appropriate for nick.com], (3) Cindy doesn't stay depressed, but immediatly takes action, (4) their main goal throughout this is to get Jimmy back from the dream dimension with the help of Cindy's relative, Louis, who is a scientist for Eustace Strych [who sent Jimmy to the realm, not knowing it and thinking that he killed Jimmy] and they mean to get to the dream dimension before it closes...and, well, as our fics may be similar, I don't think that they are anywhere NEAR the same. :)
Thanks for pointing this out though. ^_^
Yeah they do sound somewhat similar. It's just that in mines I plan to also make a 'soundtrack' of sorts. I guess I'm being a bit more ambitious with my fic than you are and a bit creative. But yours is not bad. I like it. Seems a bit better than mine.

Louis grabbed a flashlight he found lying on one of the industrial, metal shelves in the closet, taking a bit of the sure, safer feeling he had hiding in the small, light room. The battery was faltering and the light bulb wasn’t the best quality, but it still gave Louis hope. Hope, enough, to even feel that their plan would work. So, as he followed Libby, the young girl with a confident grin shining brighter than the faulty flashlight, Louis, scared, unsteady, Louis, felt a surge of positivity douse the feelings of fear and dread.
A genuinely happy feeling flickered behind his sad eyes when he entered the lab. The arch that Cindy had only a few tedious minutes before entered, her mind full of doubts that she would ever come back. But, still with a tear in her eye she went. She was much braver than most could ever hope to be. To do something because you loved someone so much you were willing to die for them.
Wow, I need to meet this boy. He must be something really special if Cindy, Cindy of all people, was willing to risk her life to save him, Louis thought, a grin spreading across his face.
Libby looked at the arch in a confused admiration. “What is that?” she asked, gazing at the hypnotizing display of colors that made up the portal to the dream realm.
“That’s…that’s the portal to the realm where Cindy went to save your friend’s heart from disappearing…that’s it.” Louis felt a surge a pride. This is really noble work, Louis thought. Cindy, my cousin, is saving another’s soul from disappearing forever and I built the portal to bring her there…wow.
“So…when are they coming back?” Libby asked.
“I’m not really sure…I guess whenever they figure out how to get back,” Louis said, a bit unsure what Libby’s reaction would be. He knew that she didn’t know that Cindy had no idea how to get back once in the dream realm. Libby thought they had a good plan in which everything was safe and sound with, as Louis had said before, no unnecessary risks. But, that was before and many things had changed since then. Libby didn’t know that it was Cindy’s choice to go and save her friend herself, even understanding the possible consequences. He could feel that Libby wasn’t going to be very happy with the news.
“What? You mean they don’t have a set way out and they have to find a way out by themselves?” Libby said, not quite believing that this was the brilliant plan that Eustace Strych’s most intelligent scientist had come up with. That her best friend had left her to go through a portal knowing that she had to come up with a way to get out once she was in there…and there could very well be [I]no[/I[ way out at all! “I don’t believe this!” Libby exclaimed, as Louis had predicted. She held her hands to her head as she thought of all the horrible things that could have happened. A tear rolled down her cheek. “Why didn’t you tell me first?” she sobbed. “All this time…I thought my best friend was safe and sound while she could be dieing. Dieing.”
“It wasn’t my choice,” Louis said. “She wanted to take that chance. Your best friend did the bravest thing I have ever seen.” Tears welled up in Louis’ eyes as well as he sank to Libby’s level and put an arm around the despairing girl.
“She…did the right thing…” Libby choked out. “I think that’s the first time she did …something like this…for someone like him.”

Sorry it took so long. I hope you like it. ^_^

Hey!
The audible thought rang loudly through the realm of dreams. The being that thought this word had made a discovery that made the source of the thought’s companion look up in surprise.
The pair had made their way through the spooky, dark, and a bit damp, lab looking for their real world friends. They had no luck looking around, so they had decided to fall back and look in the room with the portal to their world, hoping that their friends might have decided to wait for them there.
Cindy made her way into the room a bit more quickly than Jimmy did. Perhaps she felt the presence of her best friend and cousin, she didn’t say, because she was too happy about her best friend was alive.
Even though she had left Libby with the guard, who was determined to get rid of her permanently, there Libby stood, next to her cousin, someone who she had never quite seen before. Never like this. Never strong, never determined, never kind. Only irritable and a know-it-all.
Look! It’s them! They can save us now! They can wake us up! Cindy’s excited thoughts bubbling over as she hurried towards two people she was scared she’d never see again.
Jimmy was silent. A smile could be seen on his face, but it wasn’t a happy smile. His silence was reverent and his smile heartbreaking. Cindy…
They’re here! Here they are! How do I talk to them? How do we wake up? Cindy thought animatedly.
Jimmy stood by the hall where they had entered the room, the look on his face tear jerking. Cindy… he thought once again.
What is it? She asked, finally noticing his sadness.
We…we can’t go.
What do you mean ‘We can’t go’? This is what we’ve been waiting for!
Cindy…that portal…only one person went through it before and that was you. Only one person can come back…and that should be you. Not me. You don’t deserve to die here.
WHAT. ARE. YOU. TALKING. ABOUT? Cindy demanded, clenching her teeth.
I’m saying that, well, I’ve been thinking about it, and I finally figured it out. This place…it needs a soul. It needs one being in this realm…and…well; I’ve been here too long…I’m starting to fade. Jimmy gestured to his arms, which were, indeed, beginning to mist. I thought the portal could save us, but I now realized it can only save one of us. And, I’ve decided you should be the one to go.
Cindy listened to all of this, dieing a little more inside with every word he thought. She gazed into his deep blue eyes. This cannot be happening…she thought in a murmur.
There’s the portal, Jimmy lifted his left hand in the direction of the glistening colors, I want you to go.
NO. Cindy’s thoughts were sturdy and stone. I made you a promise. I do NOT break my promises. And I promised you I would get you out of here and that’s just what I plan on doing. With that, Cindy grabbed Jimmy’s misty arm and pushed him through the glimmering portal.
NO!
Jimmy’s thoughts were no longer heard.
