Here's something y'all may not've thought of about Cindy.

Her crush life:

In LP 976/J, she sings My Valentine. Note that in the first few lines, it says:

He'll comply to my every demand
My valentine will know who's in command
(Will he be good in school?)
He'll do my homework every night...

Note the bold print. Who ELSE could do Cindy's homework every night?? Honestly?! WITHOUT getting ANY answers WRONG??!! NO one. No one, that is, except Jimmy. Who ELSE could get them all right BESIDES him?? Hello???? He's gotten straight A+'s for who knows how long! THAT'S who I think she's referring to in the song!

Later on, near the end, it says:

(Will you belong to him?)
Yeah, right! That's in your DREAMS!
He will clean my house until it glimmers & it gleams...

Note the bold print, again. Why would she say HOUSE instead of home?? It's clearly obvious she doesn't have an easy home life with her parents...

Good point Amelia. I never thought of it that way.

Although I can't see her mom being an abuser in a physical sense, maybe she does push Cindy to exell very hard. Tough Love?

Maybe because of this she sees Jimmy as the very smart person for her, but because of his egoistic nature, maybe her bashing of Neutron is part-inner isolation of her true feelings and part-pleading for him to be "nice" and "humble".
