And yes, I knew about the Future Carl x Laudya pairing. I learned about it on the TOSOT tvtropes page which is under "Pair the Spares". But yes, it did surprise me when I first saw it.

But Future Carl's role throughout the whole thing interested me the most. So far...I've hated him since he appeared (not as much as FS though).

Yes, I hate Future Sheen. I guess it's because...he's just not the same funny Sheen, and seeing him act like his old self kinda disturbs me. He also kinda gives me the creeps for some reason. I know the reason is for being tortured half his life, but I still just can't picture him like that as a future version of Sheen.

Wow, April was acting like a huge bully during this chapter. It was like she singled out the weakest person she could find to make herself feel stronger and more in control after losing Nav.

It was cool how future Carl, who really is so different from April, still managed to make a convincing argument about their similarities. It was almost cold and calculated the way he went about it. There were a couple of low blows, You can definitely see Dictator Jimmy's influence. I liked seeing future Carl kind of "lose it", since he had been so dulll previously. It kind of reminds me of when he freaks out in show from time to time all of the sudden. ("can't you see that you're fighting is tearing us all apart!?")

I've always had a problem with April's lack of characterization, but I'm not sure how I feel about this either. I think maybe you were trying to show that her lack of personality comes from the fact that she's not self reflective and from the fact that she doesn't really know how to do anything except approach the world in war-mode. If that's what you were trying to show, then that's pretty clever...it's kind of a nice loophole to get out of my earlier criticisms about her character.

I still can't decide whether I like her... I guess it's not fair to judge her on this, which is probably one of her lowest moments. I guess I'd probably act like a savage too if my fiancé just got blown to smithereens.

either way, I really liked the interaction of two characters who don't get a lot of screen time or development. It made me realize for the first time that some of the characters feel really marginalized by the unhealthy, obsessive relationship between Aurora and Dictator Jimmy. As a reader if you have such a fun time watching him and Aurora get their hate on that you forget how much both of them hurt the other people in the story because they're so fixated on each other. I can really relate to the "third-wheel" feeling, since often times in my own life I get the impression that I'm not really wanted in the group.

If April had only suggested it, with no guns or violence at all, he'd never have gone with her... That whole "Dictator was my best friend" thing is also ridiculous - I agree with April.

I liked some parts of the dialogue, others were perhaps too crazy (both of them kinda lost it, seriously). The only reason I didn't love it was because FC and April are not characters I particulary like ^^'

I think no dialogue will ever be more epic than the one between Aurora and Dictator during their fight!

So you think everything he said was just a cop-out? Interesting. As author, I'm not really sure myself. I think maybe it's a mix of genuine contrition and excuses to assuage his own guilt.

I agree that April was too harsh on FC. I mean, I know she's a war-mongering species and her fiance was just killed, but I think that was a bit too harsh, even for her. On the other hand, I LOVE how FC stood up for himself! Way to GO, FC!!!

Aurora on the other hand goes off the deep end all the time, so we've been desensitized
