I've been playing Cat Quest. It's this pirate game where you sail around with your ship to find treasure. All the characters happen to be cats and rats.

Every couple minutes I take psychic damage when someone says a phrase like "Purribean Sea" or "Furst Mate" or "Lightnyan". The main villain is the "Pi-rat King"

I borrowed Lego Harry Potter from the library recently and have been playing it a lot. I finished the story for both games (years 1-4 and 5-7), and I'm at, like, 99.99% completion in 1-4. I can't get the last gold brick from one of the bonus levels because I keep dying in the quicksand lol. Right now I'm just replaying levels in freeplay to get all the characters and other collectibles in 5-7.

They were both lots of fun. Much goofier than the actual HP stories, and a few small details were changed to make the levels a bit more varied than just following Harry everywhere all the time. 5-7 did a better job giving the various characters unique abilities, which makes it more fun to play as different people, but I think 1-4 did a better job designing levels to work well in 2 player. Also, too many things in 5-7 are locked behind Dark Magic objects, and Dark Magic characters are harder to get than in 1-4. Like, so many students in peril or house crest fragments are only accessible if you have a Dark character, but you can't get one until early Deathly Hallows part 2 at the very earliest, whereas in the first game you can get a Dark character at the end of year 2, so it's hard to get more than the single gold brick for finishing a level the first go around in the second game. Also I think there are more random fun bonus things scattered around the game in years 1-4. It seems like years 5-7 are trying to rush you through the story so you can get the collectibles all afterwards in free play. So I think overall years 1-4 is a better game.

Playing The Long Dark, an open world survival game where the only objective is to stay alive for as long as possible. To survive in the post-apocalyptic Canadian wilderness, the player must manage their body temperature, hunger, thirst, and fatigue levels, avoid dangerous wildlife, and treat illness and injury (such as frostbite or broken ribs). Any death is permanent; the game deletes your save file if you die. So far I've survived 119 days without kicking the bucket, though I've had some close calls. I've still only explored like 1/5 of the map despite roaming around constantly while surveying the terrain.

The Long Dark is the loneliest experience you will ever have while playing a video game. Everything about the music, visuals, backstory, and environment work together to remind the survivor just how utterly alone they are. FOREVER.
