Leaned a couple weeks ago that there was another huge update for Stardew Valley, so I've been playing it again. I missed this game. So cute.

Also I finally repaired the ship and made it to Ginger Island, but wasn't able to do much because the Volcano Dungeon is so much harder than the Mines and one of the two parrots I met wants fucking 1.2 million gold in addition to 3 golden walnuts so now I've gone and added mods to my game (Automate and Chests Anywhere) to make it easier to harvest, process, age, and sell my shit and get money for this greedy motherfucker. I'm in the process of converting my entire greenhouse to ancient fruit so I can have an ancient fruit wine farm to get megarich. Thankfully there's a lot of new content local to the town to keep me occupied while I build my funds. Also working on building up my stash of weapons and meals (and staircases lol I'm not afraid to cheat a bit) to get to the bottom of the Skull Cavern.

I just started Stardew Valley for the first time last week!

Yissssss! It's so relaxing. It's also the game I've kept playing the same save file the longest. Like, in the Sims I get bored of families quickly and switch to new saves very often. But I've only ever had one Stardew Farmer in the 4.5 years I've been playing. I'm just too attached to Farmer Mirabelle and her wife Penny

I dunno if you know or not but the creator did recommend if you want to fully experience the update to start a new save, but I understand not doing it, it's easy to get attached lol.

I wanna play the update but can only currently play on Switch so I have to wait a while, dunno when the update will be out for me, sad. BUT I love Stardew! Such a good game.

It is relaxing so far! I have had almost ZERO luck with fishing. I've sort of resigned myself to not being able to do it. Also, Mirabelle and Penny sound ADORABLE. I ship them.

Yeah the fishing minigame is weirdly difficult compared to pretty much everything else in Stardew. I had to download a mod that Mara told me about to skip it in order to catch literally anything.

Yeah, I don't like how hard it is. I play on my ipad not on my computer, so I don't know if mods are even possible(because I know nothing about downloading or obtaining mods) but I'm more just playing low key anyway. Not going to really aim to do anything other than just have fun and relax. 

 

Although, I am tempted to like ... romance all the npcs one by one. LOL

If you date all of them and get to max hearts with all of them, there are some special cutscenes you can see may want to have a rabbit's foot in your inventory if you want the good version of them.

I haven't played that way (only just now bothering to raise friendship level with dateable npcs other than Penny) but I read about it on the wiki and I kinda wanna make a new save and do a dating speed run to see all four cutscenes.

Honestly the only reason I'm trying to raise my friendship level so much now is because I found out about Perfection (exploring all aspects of the game) and I'm trying to achieve that and one of the things is maxing friendship with all villagers.

is there a reward for reaching Perfection? or is it something that you just want to do for fun? LOL yeah, those cut scenes sound interesting!

Yeah you get like a special statue for your farm or something that gives daily rewards, I think.

Been resource and friendship grinding the past couple weeks and I gotta say...I really don't like Emily's character. She's just so boring while also being stupidly woo and LOOK AT ME I'M SO INTERESTING AND DIFFERENT! Like the very definition of a Manic Pixie Dream Girl lol. Can't fucking stand her.

I don't like her either. I do like her pet bird, however, and I'm very angry that I can't have it.

it is a pretty sweet bird. 

 

I don't have any particular feelings toward Emily. I will say that she's not the npc I ended up romancing, but she's also not my least favorite NPC. :-)

I hate that her 2 and 4 heart events don't have any player interaction. We're not even really there for either of them. So dumb.

I had the hardest time ever even finding Leah in early game, so I was never able to raise friendship high enough to see her storyline and get interested in romancing her. She was always in her cabin with the door locked lol. I was only able to befriend her recently when I realized she went to the saloon in the evenings, at least in fall/winter. Same with Elliott.
