"God-modding" is when someone role-playing causes every event to go in their favor or the direction they want, rather than reacting to the event in-character. Things happen conveniently even if they aren't logical, and the rp'er at fault changes everything to suit their ideas.

 

Prime example:

AC: :33 < *but as it happens the really cute cub lands in a bush safe and sound, whew!*

 

The character in green, AC, happens to love to god-mod. When GC *drops her cub* to the ground far below, instead of reacting in-character, she causes the cub to land on a bush.

Also, if the other rp'ers start to take the plot in a certain direction, and one person keeps trying to go back to another idea, that can be god-modding. God-modding is essentially when one person tries to be in control of an rp, rather than actually role-playing and reacting to the other rp'ers.

Yeah, you tend to god-mod a lot. ; nothing against you, but it is an annoyance when you're trying to rp with someone god-modding. An rp is a conversation of sorts between people, and god-modders make the rp all about their personal fantasies rather than something everyone can enjoy.

 

A good tip: if you feel the urge to change how something is going because you don't like it, think about why you want to change it. If it's because *you* wanted the story to go a different way, try reacting in-character rather than changing the plot to suit. If it's something that is genuinely upsetting you, like your issue with violence, Em, then address it (out-of-character).

Okay, got it.  I'll keep it to a sheer minimum if I have to do it at all.  Now, how shall this thing start out??

 

Oh, and one more rule: If ya have to break the fourth wall, use parentheses! XD That would apply to if/when Megan uses her poofer character.

I've GOT it!!!  The theme is "haunted mansion"!!!  But is it really "haunted", or is one of Jimmy's enemies trying to pull a fast one on them?!

For the Haunted theme, we should have the story start off with Jimmy and Cindy arguing about whether Pluto is a planet or not, and lets just see where it goes from them.

Neutron, I've been thinking...  Pluto deserves to be called a planet, I think, even though they demoted it, seemingly, back in 2006.  I mean, we grew up knowing that it was, and it's been that way since it was discovered by Clyde Tombaugh in 1930!  Why have it demoted now?!

 

There's actually a good reason for that, Cindy.  As of that year, a "planet" is defined as a spherical body in orbit around a star that clears a path throughout its orbit, which Pluto has NOT done, since it's so far out from the sun!

 

Ugh, you are so critical, Neutron!!  What it's boiled down to these days is not a question of the science of astronomy, but that of plain terminology!  And you call yourself a genius!

 

So WHAT?!  The matter was explored scientifically!  Therefore, it doesn't deserve to be called a "planet" anymore, but simply a "dwarf planet", such as Ceres, Sedna, and Quaoar!  And my intelligence has nothing to do with it!

 

It has history behind it, so it deserves to be called one!
