[Mara=^.^=]

It's the intangible things, in my opinion, that make a person attractive. The way they speak, or move, or hold themselves. You start to notice weird details about someone when you have a crush on them (mostly cause you're staring at them all the time, lol).

 

The challenge for me is going to be conveying the Sheriff's (eventual) attraction to Tex without being able to share his internal monologue. You really can't tell what he's thinking half the time, although that's what makes it fun for the reader

Oh, I don't know about that. Something about the way he speaks to her. The way he touches her arm, or calls her by her real name. It's just so obvious that his feelings aren't quite what they seem- even now.

 

At least to me. 

 

But you know how I am with romance Mara.

He's definitely seeing her as more of a person now, rather than just as a one-dimensional criminal come to make his life miserable. I think he's more sympathetic to her situation and viewpoints than he was when they first met. I can't wait to start writing explicit attraction, because it's going to be hilarious. Well, to me anyway. I'm one of those idiots who sits around and cackles at her own story.

Tex felt as though she were being tempted by the devil himself. He leaned in closer, and she found herself mirroring his action. They huddled together over the pitcher, faces nearly touching.

 

“Come on, Vortex,” he whispered. “Drink with me.”

Not sure why, but for some reason that line cracked me up. You're definitely very creative with your wording!

 

I'm loving the relationship between Tex & Neutron. You're right, the fact that we can't tell what he's thinking makes it all the more fun and interesting.

 

I love chapters like these, where we get to see all of the characters in one place, seeing all of their different personalities, and how they interact with each other.

 

I also liked Tex's realization that Carl & Elke truly love each other. brought a smile to my face.

ugh, how am I supposed to wait for the next installment? I've gone back and re-read it several times just to fulfill some of that desire. But it's just so GOOD.

I don't think I remembered to comment when I read the chapter yesterday, but I really liked it I think the part about pie reminding the Sheriff of his father was my favorite. So short, but so fitting.

Its too late to give a proper comment, plus you know I wouldn't know where to stop if I started. Just know that I loved this, and had also been looking forward to the party scene for a long time. And I really have a thing for poker scenes, when done well, and I know this will be.
