Awesome! More bronies!
I may have converted my boyfriend's sister over the weekend...I talked about it nonstop and she kept rolling her eyes at me, but my boyfriend has just informed me that now for some "mysterious" reason she's watching some episodes.

My friend's dad (walking into my friend's room, where all three of us are sitting on her bed watching YouTube): "What're you guys doing?"
Us: "Watching YouTube."
Him: "Yeah, I can see that. What video are you watching?"
Us: "...My Little Pony."
Him: "HAHAHAHA no, seriously, what're you watching?"
Us: "...My Little Pony..."
Him: "And here I was worried about you doing something inappropriate. Instead, you're sitting in her bedroom watching My Little Pony. You guys are the worst teenagers ever." (exit friend's dad)

Two words. DOCTOR. WHOOVES.
Incidentally, which episodes of MLP are the most highly recommended? I'm trying to work my way through them, but my internet is so slow that I don't want to waste it on any bad episodes (...if there are any).

ALL OF THEM ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
No wait, I lie. There was one episode (and one episode only) that I didn't like - Feeling Pinkie Keen. But otherwise, watch whatever episodes you happen to find!

Even with all that animal abuse Dash was dishing out, I still loved the episode.
The only episode I've been so/so about this season was last week's "Cutie Pox" episode. But the week before that with the Sisterhood Social - I LOVED that episode. I can't decide if the Luna episode or the Sisterhood episode is my favorite for the season so far...both were sooooooooooo gooooooooooooooooooood.
And this week's was fun, too.

The Mysterious Mare-Do-Well was on last week, It was good, it's fun to see 5 out of the Mane 6 play dress up to teach Dashie a lesson.
This week's episode will be a Rarity-themed episode, and the following week will be a Spike-focused episode, and the week after that might be another ponyfied holiday episode.

I watched the first episode...I'm not entirely sure this show is my cup of tea.
I like explosions, roundhouse kicks, and people trying to stab each other. This might be too...pleasant, lol.
But, to be fair, I'll give it my customary 5 episode run. 5 episodes to impress me, or I'll retain my adult dignity and walk away.
~*Mara*~ = ^.^ =
I am the same way. I gave this show my regurlar three-episode-opinion-rendering-preview, and I decided that it was not for me. I enjoy ALL types of fantasy, and/or, entertainment, because siad types of entertainment takes one to a place where their wildest dreams can come true, and they can never be harmed. I also ESPECIALLY LOVE a a story about the human spirit overcoming an obsatcle(s) (it's corny, I KNOW, but it is what it is), because it shows anything can be accomplished, no matter how difficult. Don't belive me?! Just watch one of my favorite movies of ALL-TIME, "Defiance," with Daniel Craig (an amazing actor).
I think that it just might not be "relate-able" enough for me to enjoy it, meaning that it is not realistic enough for me, and, for me to enjoy a work of fantasy/fiction, I have to able to relate to it, and I can relate to ALMOST ANYTHING, so long as it is SOMEWHAT REALISTIC.
I respect ALL opinions, and/or vies, though, and I'm glad that YOU GUYS like it. It looks like it would be great show for educational purposes (for children, teens, and young adults), and I'll keep that in mind.
LOL, I remember Little Bear!
Funnily, I have no problem with girly stuff. I routinely wear dresses and love painting my nails. Of course, I hunt and fish and traipse around in the woods, so maybe it all balances out.
I think it's the blatant lessons about friendship and happy-skipping-goodness that makes me cringe. Corniness of any kind tends to rub me the wrong way. Let the lessons of joy and goodness and loyalty be delivered subtly, thank you very much. I like happy endings, but even I have my limits.
~*Mara*~ = ^.^
P.S. I think plenty of guys would love sparkly frolicking "girly" stuff if society didn't tell them that was "gay" and "wrong", as attested by the large adult male fan following. I wish people could just like what they're naturally attracted to, without other people giving them shit for it. Dude likes tiaras? Lay off! He damn well can!
...Yeah, ...the corniness, that's it. It was (please excuse the corny--geddit?!--metaphor) "fresh off the cob."
It was so sweet and surgery, that I think I got a cavity from just watching episode one...
..And, idk, Mara. Guys MIGHT like that kind of stuff. I would never know. I'm completely cool with my masculinity. I do many things that prove this, such as, asking my homosexual friend for his opinion on my appearance to make-sure that I don't look like a slob. I mean , hey, I enjoy painting my nails, and wearing dresses juts as much as Mara does (please tell that I don't have to put the sarcasm X infinity thing in here, because it should be implied), but I have my limit as well...
...Mara, you fish?! How do you have the patience?! You remember that scene from the movie "Big Fish?" The scene that I'm referring to, is the one where he shot the fish. That would be me. I don't have the patience; I just don't.

Seriously, though, shipping aside, this episode is easily in my top 3 for season 2. The whole thing was genius. The concept was perfect and made so much sense. And there were a million hilarious little bits thrown in left and right. The part with the warning sirens nearly killed me.
Goodness I love this show.

What about the the other two eps, Mare-Do-Well and the other Rarity one, Sweet and Elite?
Also, next week is a Holiday-themed ep!
Mare-Do-Well and Sweet and Elite were also both good, but much more "average" than this week's. (Of course, an "average" MLP: FiM episode is still like, fan-friggin-tastic compared to almost anything else out there). I think the difference is, Mare-Do-Well, Sweet and Elite, and Secret of my Excess all were about a character's biggest flaw getting the best of them, but only Secret of Excess, at least in my mind, actually wrapped up that plot line and had the character learn a lesson all on their own. Mare-Do-Well, the lesson was forced. Sweet and Elite, you could even challenge the idea that Rarity learned any lesson at all. But Secret of my Excess, Spike clearly learned his lesson, and in a fantastic way. Plus...Secret of my Excess had all my ponies in fun little featured bits, which the other episodes lately haven't been achieving to the same caliber.
So yes. All the episodes have been great, but Secret of my Excess just had something "extra" to it that made it that much more special. That's why I love this show. I'm never disappointed by an episode. I enjoy them all. And then once in a while, you get an episode that just truly stands out and shines and is like "THIS. THIS IS WHAT ALL CARTOONS SHOULD ASPIRE TO BE."
Also, awesome video below (though avoid if you don't want spoilers):
