But probably I'm being over dramatic...and that's just because I conviced myself of a not happy ending, so, when it comes, it would be shocking and totally awesome ^^

A happy ending just wouldn't jive with the complex emotions that pervade the rest of TOSOT. Now, I'm not promising a horrible ending either, but don't expect roses and dancing and love and all that jazz.

Mara wins, obviously.

Now it's time for another round of Crys's ridiculous theories! My secret theory: Aurora and DJ duke it out, both drawing some major blood from one another. At some point the two of them get close enough to have their bloodied bodies commingle. Flash back to chapters earlier when said heroine emerged with a bloody cut and a broken antidote container. The cure miraculously travels from Aurora's blood stream into DJ's there by curing the "evil" dictator. Unfortunately the cure also eats away at Aurora's brain causing her to become increasingly insane.
There's Crys's happy ending.

Would anyone care to place wagers?
LOL

Oh, pick me!
I'd LOVE to place a wager. XD
Btw, I am voting in this - my ego demands it.
I'm not telling if I'm voting for the real ending or not - but my evilness demands I gloat about knowing the ending.
DJ is awfully good at demanding.

Mara would probably go with either Aurora winning, or the "both" choice. I just chose DJ because he's a bamf.

Would my idea of the ending be like this?? Aw, man, if it is...A happy ending just wouldn't jive with the complex emotions that pervade the rest of TOSOT. Now, I'm not promising a horrible ending either, but don't expect roses and dancing and love and all that jazz.

Perhaps if the ending doesn't tug at our heartstrings, Mara will die lol

Yeah, I think a sappy happy ending would ruin it. I'm not saying the ending should be sad, but I don't think DJ and Aurora should skip off into the sun set, while holding holds and everyone els rides behind them on unicorns.
Quoted.

Super lol because I know what's going to happen, too.

What I've learned about stories is that the ending doesn't need to be "happy", per se. What it does need to be is emotionally satisfying. This means that the ending could be the most depressing thing in the world, but as long as the writer chooses their words right and knows their craft, they can make it so the reader is left feeling okay that what happened in the story happened.
So Mara could pull a complete Hamlet on us, but if she knows what she's doing, she'd leave us feeling almost content that it's happened.

But really, that seems to be the best ending in my head emotionally so, I mean DJ would stay in meglomanium- induced ignorance of his actions and the kids go home. The kids live their lives out, and its all hunky-dory!
My theory his a wall when it concerns Aurora though, I love her too much to imagine her DEAD! But that would be the most probable ending as far as DJ winning is concerned. I also have a little hope that DJ finds it in his heart to feel (some) regret when she's gone.
After all, why would he go to all the trouble of capturing her and letting her go just to kill her? That does not sit right in his intentions..He just seems attached to her.He went from trying to get her attention w/ his inventions as regular Jimmy, to making her chase after him as an evil dictator! That could just be some wishful thinking though..
-WOahh, really long post.
-What does everybody else think?

I will compare this to what would happen if a noisy little terrier finally caught up with the car that goes zipping past his front yard every day without fail:
He wouldn't know what to do with it when he caught it.
Without Aurora waltzing through the universe with April and Nav wasting scout ships and defending planets, there would be no fun anymore. If Aurora is killed, the game he's been playing for 10 years is over. It's the reason he let her go the first time.
Besides, he likes making her squirm
