I think I was 13 or something when it came out. Don't remember for sure, but watching it all through high school I was still the same way, haha. My love of Bartok in a romantic fashion is a joke, obviously. It was sort of my way to get my friends to stop pressuring me into thinking people in movies were hot. I'm not very normal, but back then I didn't know that being abnormal was okay. I was abnormal despite that, though. I just felt like something was wrong with me.
I was like 7 or 8. And I know you're not into beastiality. :D (I'm not either!  ) No, I completely understand. I'm actually still kinda like that. I always held a disdain for people always thinking people in movies were hot... In fact, most of the people who I think are hot are animated, so I guess that's one step past where I WAS. No, I dunno. I used to be more like that. I still get kinda annoyed, but now if I really do think they're hot, I'll admit it. But that doesn't happen very often. However, now I can think anyone is adorable just because of their body language, but that doesn't mean I'm attracted to them THAT way. I guess that's partly of what makes me a good candidate for animation because characters aren't what they look like but how they move sayeth Chuck Jones.
But, in facts you, American people, are great guys, funny and smart, like you.
Awww thanks Flank! You're supercool. I dunno. I think I'm just SO openminded that I can like too many things, some things that have things in them that I don't like (like racism) just because my love for things dominates my dislike for things. I can just see the goodness in everything. For example, if a stereotypical "geek" walked in the room right now--- glasses, suspenders, the whole shebang--- I would just think that person was amazing because they were so definitive, whereas some people might disdain that person. I just love everything for what it is! I know that sounds pretty retarded, but it's true! Like I'm having the second real life crush in my life right now, and someone said to me, "Ah but he has acne," or something like that and 1. I didn't even notice and 2. Now that I do I wouldn't change it if I could! I wouldn't change one thing about him! Everything about him is what makes him him and that's what I like...
WOW HUGE RANT. I lurv our discussions. ^-^
But yeah Flank I just see you as another awesome person. I forget that we all come from different nationalites, but now that I think about it, that's SO COOL! I wish we all could just be in a big room together and bask in our differences....
I just think it's a cute love story and the music is amazing. Plus, Demetri was just.... :kawaii:
Ditto to everything you just said. Gotta love the love/hate! XD
Do you guys know that not all princes and princesses are like that?
Yah actually royalty often look just like everyone else or according to some societal standards "homely."
I don't even pay attention to it being a princess movie. That has nothing to do with it for me. I get kinda annoyed after awhile actually with the cliche princess thing, but every story has been retold a thousand different ways and if you can tell it well, then that's what separates it from everything else. It's weird. I've always thought about that but never could articulate it until Dave Masters told me that and I read that in that book "How to Read Literature Like a Professor."
All that matters to me in a story are characters. I mean I guess other things matter, but that's what wins me.. Yet another thing that makes me all too much an animator.. GAWD I CAN'T WAIT TO STUDY IT IN COLLEGE NEXT YEAR!!!!! <3
The only thing I know about princes and princesses come from....Disney.
Oh but you actually know more because this is Don Bluth, not Disney!!! :D ... But he originated from Disney, so I guess you kinda do. ROFL.
