I just had the random notion to make a fanclub for this movie because it's pretty kickbutt.

You can watch it in its entirety on YouTube, but if you like it, please buy it because it is an AWESOME film and the makers deserve your pretty money!

I especially recommend it to J/C fans because it's got that love/hate relationship thing going on in it, and all the characters are adorable.

Aren't they cute??? It's funny; my classmates used to always poke fun at me for having cartoon crushes... But we were watching it in french class in freshman year, and almost all the girls were cooing over Dmitri. I was like, "Wth?!" But he's gotta be pretty hot to turn all of them hypocrite simultaneously. XDDDD

Yeah, I'm sewing my prom dress right now, and it's fashioned after Anastasia's at the end of the film (after her sleeves get all torn into petal shapes) but it's going to be different colors with a couple other adjustments. When it's done or when I go to prom or whatever, I'll be sure to post it. ^-^

Anya and Demetri are SO cute. I love the "art" in the movie. He is pretty darn sexy if I say so myself .... but *cough* for a cartoon character.



I can't say I have crushes on characters, but some of the moments they have or things they do kinda makes me wish sometimes boys were really like that. I wish sometimes I could give my boyfriend a kick in the butt to be a little bit more :lol: Romantic.

Really???? I've had SOOO many cartoon crushes... WAYYYY more than real people crushes. In fact, I've only had two crushes on people I know IRL. I do like Johnny Depp (how can ONE human be so many awesomely retarded characters?!?!?) but he is unattainable... And even if he was attainable, I wouldn't be seriously interested..

There ARE boys like that in the world.. Well, there's at least one, and I can't tell you because he's MINE! HAHAHA! J/k... Well, at least about the part where you would steal him. :D I must be losing my mind.

Awwwwww. Too bad.

What don't you like about it? Did you watch it? Is it because it completely disregarded historical truth? Because I can understand that, but I dunno. The characters win me. I feel like they're much more real and have more dimensions than a lot of animated films I've seen.. (Not that I don't like animated films with flatter characters... I just found this one refreshing for that reason.)

(Don't worry. I don't argue with people because of their opinions. I argue with people because they're annoying. And you haven't annoyed me. ;D )

It portrays Russians as crude and stupid. Besides, the last years of Russian monarchy were rather unsuccessful to say the least, it's a tragedy. You can watch that movie, I don't mind it at all, that's just a tale about a particular princess.

OHHHH!! Okay, that's totally understandable! Yeah, a lot of American animated movies are pretty racist. It's like that so often that I just kinda forget after awhile. They tend to make everyone except the main characters ugly and then those characters are the ones with the cliched attributes of whatever nationality it is. I remember reading about how controversial Aladdin was when it came out because Aladdin and Jasmine had American accents and Anglicanized facial features and then the other characters had exaggeratedly unattractive Middle Eastern facial features and accents and were just overall unappealing.

I guess I'm just so used to it that I just ignore it or dismiss it as obnoxious charicatures and just focus on the main characters.

Back in the day, my friends all wanted to date Dimitri, which I could not understand. Bartok was way cooler, funnier, and sweeter. And cuter!

Heh, hopefully Flank won't mind my loving this movie. I swear, 90% of my enjoyment of it is because of Bartok. I don't THINK Bartok is the offensive part, lol.

Thanks for understanding. There can be attractive of the other nationalities too.

But, I myself am used to this as well. Or just laugh at it. It can be pretty funny, for example how "Russian space station" is pictured in the Armagedon movie, it's so stupid, it actually is funny, if you understand what I mean. OK, may be that is not so stupid, that's how we would portray ourselves in a comedy. Have fun with it.

That's how I was when it first came out. I was a little kid and I always liked the animal sidekicks, so Pooka the dog was up there too.

But now I'm hormonal and like to watch Dmitri fail. :D

Yeah I was actually thinking about that earlier. I wonder if the people who make it know beyond their subconscience how they come across to other nationalities.. But then again, we make fun of OURSELVES constantly too, but I don't think so much in animated movies. At least I can't think of any examples.
