Guys, I'm hereby starting a brand new fic called Nobody's Perfect. It's still in its early stages right nao; I'm currently writing Chapter 2; but I'll begin to post it when I'm done with, say, Chapter 10. It's a sequel to the N-Men ep, with a new addition to the superkid group. Hope ya enjoy it when it's posted! Oh, and this fic has NO underage inappropriateness, if ya catch my drift... Ya don't have to read about that this time!

Tonight, I plan to amuse myself by keeping a journal of my thoughts and actions as I stay awake until dawn finishing this confounded paper. Enjoy my mental torment. It's good stuff.

1:17 am: Horked down mediocre Chana Masala from Jo's. Feel slighted by lack of dessert. Only have self to blame, however, for eating entire cookie supply yesterday for no apparent reason. 2 1/2 pages out of 6 completed.

1:23 am: Finished section on Kaminaljuyu earlier today. Now describing archaeology of Tikal. Entertaining self by imagining city of Tikal personified in human form as extremely attractive warrior guy wearing loincloth and feather headdress.

1:34 am: Taking notes while singing along to recording of self singing Battle Hymn of the Republic. Cannot possibly sink any lower.

1:45 am: Was wrong about previous statement. Now contemplating drawing picture of L and Light from Death Note as Tikal and Calakmul, two warring centers in Classic Maya lowlands. Could have them holding spears and trying to rip each other's hearts out. Suspect this would generate lots of page-views on Deviantart.

1:50 am: Finished taking notes on Tikal. Time to write about stupid Stela 4. Never liked Stela 4 anyway.
...Maybe take bathroom break first.

1:55 am: Back from bathroom. Spent full two minutes staring at reflection in mirror. Convinced that nose has gotten bigger since last time I looked.

2:24 am: Finally onto 4th page. First attempt at using Pandora radio a spectacular success. Now listening to songs by James Taylor and Jim Croce.

2:27 am: Butt falling asleep.

2:39 am: Room beginning to smell funny. Wonder if chain-smoking pothead neighbors are lighting up again, or if own brain is simply rotting from reading words like "Teopanticuanitlan" and "Topiltzin Quetzalcoatl". Betting on the latter.

3:09 am: FINALLY done section about Tikal! Paper officially 2/3 done. Listening to Spongebob's "Sweet Victory" to celebrate.

3:16 am: Taking notes for third section of paper. Extremely grateful my name is not "K'inich Yax K'uk' Mo'" like first ruler of Copán. What the hell do all those apostrophes even mean?

3:30 am: Found source of mysterious ticking noise. It's a pipe bomb. Yaaay!!

3:45 am: Very, very, very tired. Seppuku attempt foiled by lack of suitably sharp katana and all-consuming fear of death. Decide instead to get sugared up on packet of smarties.

3:51 am: Struck by revelation that today is Friday the 13th. Life suddenly explicable.

4:10 am: Still taking notes. Continuous stream of drool emanating from corner of mouth. Praying fervently for painless death drowning in own slobber.

4:39 am: Complete deterioration of mental state imminent.

5:10 am: Last half hour extremely productive. Made up poem, which goes like this:
The day has arrived
We all knew it would
Friday the 13th
Bringer of no good
I’m sure things will be fine
They’ll go as they should
But to be on the safe side
Let’s all knock on wood!

5:20 am: Page 5. Bitch.

5:58 am: Finally done body of paper. Experiencing strange desire to weep openly over newly discovered, borderline-hysterical love of talud-tablero architecture at Copán. Choose instead to get few hours of sleep before attempting introductory and concluding paragraphs.


ALARM SET FOR 9:30 AM. FML AND LIGHTS OUT.

Interesting news, everybody!

As of November 30th, Idreamofjimmy.com exceeded its bandwidth for the first time in IDOJ history! This is good news, because it means we're getting a lot of traffic and downloads.

It would have been bad news, but since we passed the limit like 2 minutes before the date switched over to December 1st and the bandwidth counter reset, the mainsite was only down (very) briefly.

Congrats IDOJ, you bandwidth hog, you!

It would have been bad news, but since we passed the limit like 2 minutes before the date switched over to December 1st and the bandwidth counter reset, the mainsite was only down (very) briefly.

Another interesting note: Tommy Wright, who was on the team of artists who brought JN to life, just joined Deviantart! When asked why Jimmy Neutron was canceled suddenly, and to comment on the upcoming show Planet Sheen, he said:

"Jimmy got really expensive to make so I think Nick had to pull the plug eventually. If you look at the quality of season 3, it was really amazing that we could do 11 minutes every week.

I'm not sure why it's taken so long for a Sheen show, because the idea was being thrown around way back when I was there. "

Actually, we have a yearly fundraiser, and anyone is welcome to contribute. You don't have to, of course (especially if you're underage), but I would never be able to afford this site completely on my own. Ally used to pay for it, but ever since she quit the internet, the monetary side of things has definitely been more problematic. But never fear - we always raise enough money every year (around March) to cover the cost.

Tommy Wright has been kind enough shoot the breeze with me a bit more, so I thought I'd share our conversations with all y'all:

MARA: JN actually has a really active fandom on the internet. It's still surprisingly popular, despite the fact that no new episodes have been produced in years. Most of our members are older teens and college students (who were fans of the show in their younger years), but we keep getting new fans every day who see the show online and end up getting hooked.
We have a lot of overseas members, too, especially from South America, Europe, and the Philippines.

TOMMY: A lot of the artist from DNA say that JN was one of the funnest projects we have ever worked on and I think it really shows in the series. There was so much creative spirit in that studio. It's one of my fondest memories. We would sit in the screening room after reviewing each episode and laugh our asses off at all the silly stuff we would slip in. Oh such good times.

MARA: JN was created using Maya. They actually have classes teaching Maya at my college, but I've been too busy trying to fulfill my requirements for my major (anthropology). But some of my fellow JN fans would probably be interested in learning to animate. Any thoughts?

TOMMY:Hey, I started it as a hobby in college and now I make a pretty darn good living making cartoons and video games. You're lucky to have classes that teach Maya. Back in my day *picture old-timer* I had to learn it on my own.

There are also some great dvds and such. Gnomon is a popular place for those. If you want an easier program to learn, try Hash's Animation:Master. That's what got me started. http://www.hash.com/2007web/
