SUNNY CRACKED.
Yes, it's true!
WHAT'S true, some of the newbies may ask?
Well...
THIS FIC IS BACK. :o
I know, I know. YOU'RE ALL IN TREMENDOUS SHOCK. How could this possibly be? you're all wondering. I thought this fic was OVER 'N' DONE WITH. On a permanent hiatus. A never-ending writer's block.
Well, you would have been right. But for poor Snazzo's sake, for his FORTIETH BIRTHDAY, I decided to make the ultimate sacrifice.
The chapter that I have been unable to write for over EIGHT MONTHS I wrote in one day. JUST FOR SNAZZO. (And my promise to myself to finish all started-fanfiction.) Pathetic, isn't it? ;) Although that's why it's not that long of a chapter.
But I've tortured you long enough. (If you actually care about this and are still reading, I mean. And, well, if you haven't forgotten what half of the fic was about. Cuz I sure did.) I've been looking forward to this moment since the day I got writer's block, and now I was finally able to write this. So without further ado, I give you all...
Chapter IX
Four days later, while Ms. Fowl was writing on the board, Jimmy threw his pencil several feet from Cindy’s desk and turned to her sweetly.
“Oh, Cindy, I accidentally dropped by pencil,” he said with a smile. “Do you think you could possibly get it for me?”
“Of course,” she grumbled, and picked up the pencil only to slam it back on Jimmy’s desk.
“Ah-ah-ah,” he said tauntingly. “This is your last day, remember! If you do anything mean until—when did you mess up yesterday?—six forty-five tonight, those colors on your arms?” He nodded toward Cindy’s wrists where, thankfully, the colors had receded slightly since this morning. “Those will be permanent. Again.”
Cindy held back the urge to stab him with the banana on her desk only with the repeating thought of Three hours and fifteen minutes. Three hours and fifteen minutes.
“Oh, and Vortex?” Jimmy added politely.
“What ELSE do you want?” Cindy murmured quietly, as Ms. Fowl turned around quickly. “You’ve been absolutely torturing me for four days, not to mention this ENTIRE THING is your fault. Haven’t I suffered enough?”
Jimmy blinked at her in surprise.
“Wow. Fine. Okay.”
Cindy leaned back and began blocking out Ms. Fowl’s lecture coolly. Just three more hours and fourteen minutes.
* * *
Later that night, Jimmy, Libby, Sheen, and Carl were crowded around Cindy anxiously. Cindy herself was not so calm either. Four of them were staring at their respective watches or cell phone clocks, but Jimmy was fidgeting with the Rainbow 5000 nervously while watching the satellite clock on his wrist. He had a look of unmistakable guilt plastered upon his face.
Five.
Four.
Three.
Two.
One.
Every color that was not an original part of Cindy’s body faded from her skin and hair immediately. She took a deep breath, savoring her return to normal at last.
“Thank you so much, Neutron!” Cindy squealed, forgetting that it was in fact Jimmy’s fault that anything had happened to her in the first place.
“Hold the thanks, I have to tell you something,” Jimmy said guiltily.
Dread filled Cindy and spread instantaneously. Even though she had no idea what Jimmy was about to say, it was obvious that it was not good.
“Oh, Neutron,” she wailed, “what did you do?”
Jimmy cleared him throat and looked her straight in the eye. “I have a confession to make.”

-What shocking secrets will Jimmy reveal?
I think Beks knows ... Don't tell me Beks! I want it to be a surprise!

I liked the chapter, but dang, I don't remember everything very clearly, so I think I'm gonna have to make time and reread the other chapters again to refresh my memory... :P
Still, it was awesome and I'm looking forward to seeing this fic finished!

Nah, okay, I won't. So here it is, the chapter that took months... Chapter 10!!
Chapter X
Cindy advanced several steps. “Neutron,” she snarled, “what did you do?”
Jimmy backed up against his wall, terrified. “I—I—I—”
“Look, Neutron,” Cindy growled, jabbing him in the chest.
“I—I—I—I—” he spluttered.
“Why can’t I just have the truth?” Cindy screamed. Though her temper wildly increased, her skin color stayed the same.
“O—okay, well, I kind—sorta—maybe—totally—lied to you—ah!” Jimmy confessed, squealing when Cindy stamped her foot furiously.
“What exactly do you mean, lied to me?”
“Cin,” Libby whispered just loudly enough so Cindy could not pretend to have not heard her, “don’t you think you’re blowing this thing way out of proportion?”
“That remains to be seen,” Cindy said flatly, tapping her foot. “Now Neutron… What. Did. You. Do?”
Jimmy looked momentarily surprised at her change in tone, then relieved. “Well, I know you’re definitely not going to like this. So you have to go sit over there, okay?”
He was pointing to a chair at the other end of the room, at least thirty feet away. Cindy stalked off, muttering things like “no respect” and “the Incredible Hulk.”
“So,” Jimmy said slightly louder so Cindy could hear him. “This was all my fault.”
“Duh,” she called back, looking aggravated.
“No, I mean the entire thing was my fault,” he repeated. Libby, Sheen, and Carl looked like they knew what he was going to say and started looking nervous.
“I beg your pardon?”
“Look, I made the entire thing happen. The night of that storm, Sheen, Carl, Libby, and I had had enough, so we made this whole thing up. You were never really changing colors by yourself. I’ve been following you around this entire time with the Rainbow 5000. I even brought the Heat Ray into this when it got that bad… how do you think I always got there so fast when you called? The Hovercar is fast, but not that fast—I would just be outside wherever you were and count to twenty before coming in. So we just did this whole thing to teach you a lesson.”
Cindy just sat there for a minute, staring at Jimmy without blinking. Was I really that bad? she wondered. She thought back to everything that had happened since that storm and realized she had been. Then she stood up, and all four of them flinched, expecting her to blow any second. She opened her mouth (Sheen and Carl covered their ears), the words Thank you waiting to come out. But she couldn’t. Not yet. Not after everything he had put her through.
She walked wordlessly to the chute that led in and out of the lab and pressed the button that had been used so many times against her. Sheen and Carl uncovered their ears, and Libby and Jimmy looked shocked.
But Cindy never saw their expressions. Her back was to them, and in a moment, that familiar glass appeared over her head and she zoomed away through it silently for the last time.

That's so cool!
Aw, it was a very good ending.
-I was so annoyed at Cindy for going out with Nick in the first place!
-And then doing it AGAIN! What was she thinking?
...
Kind of odd though, Sunny, and almost disturbing.
-The way Cindy went up the chute for the LAST time.
The last time in this story? The last time EVER?
-Say it ain't so!
...
"What's next for Sunny?"
"Well, Snazzo, I think you'll be surprised and delighted!"
SNAZZ*O
P.S. - I suggest you work it up into proper format and submit it to Mara to add to the site. We need more great fanfics on that page!
P.P.S. - You might want to PM Beks too! I'm sure she'll see it, but it'll be a nice surprise when she pops in from Camp, or gets back.

And LOL, so was I, and I wrote it! XDD
I'm not sure what "for the last time" meant. It was just supposed to be more dramatic. xDD :P So yeah, let's say it's the last time in the story. LOL.
You will definitely be surprised and hopefully delighted! I have one fic in progress right now, and I'm hoping to start at least one other new idea (and then one I had WAAAAY back in the days of It's a Matter of Life and Death). I don't want to have my spot of most fics going on at one time taken from me by Beks!! XD
PS. Well, I submitted two or three fanfics to her at least a month ago, so I'll wait to hear if I should send this one in too. Before you came along, I had the most non-admin fics on the whole site! XD
PPS. Okay, thanks!!

Cindy definitely needs to be taught some life lessons, and this was a super creative way of doing it.
:D I can't wait to see what you have for us in future stories!!!

LOL, so did I. Thanks again!!
@Flank: You're welcome!! I should be thanking you for reading it, though. So--THANK YOU!!! =D And I'm so glad you thought it was like the show--that was my complete and total goal!! YAY!
@Katie: Wooow, am I honored or what! Thanks so much!
Haha, I agree about the first part. And thanks! It was so fun to write it. XD Except, you know, the eight-month writer's block. XD
Well, I'm kind of sick of writing for now. But I have a hardrive and a half of old ideas, so you can bet you'll be seeing some more of my work! (:
