It's actually not a spoiler. It's something that won't be appearing in any of the volumes at all. THAT's why it's taking so long (that, and huge massive intimidating college papers).ok I want to ask a question to the writer:*clears throat* ok I know that you are VERY, VERY, VERY busy right now, and that TOSOT vol 5 is in stand by, but I'm starting to think that at this rate, the volume will be comming before the spoiler you promised us winners...(I really don't want to sound like little miss bossy and impatient, but I AM a tad impatient lol sorry for this....) nut anyway take you time! and oh the question, what happened to that spoiler ... ?

No, I'm afraid not. TOSOT is the last fanfic I will write...after all, sooner or later I have to start writing my debut novel, right? ;)

But srsly Mara, WHAT?!
You really wanna know? Cause I've got lots of ideas
Idea #1: Something along the lines of a book based on a child's games. You know, like you read about the kid and his/her friends or w/e, and their daily excursions form one element of the plot, but at the same time the fantastic imagined worlds they create form the other part of the plot. The two play off one another and influence each other. So a story within a story, I guess.
Idea #2: A children's book featuring my 5th grade alter ego, Joana Burne, and her best friend Marie Williams (a character created by my old best friend Kristin). Tom-Sawyerish in that they both pretty much make it their goal in life to fail every test, spite every teacher, and get into as much trouble as humanly possible. Set in a dangerous network of frontier towns in the Sierra Nevada mountains in the 1800's. I actually already wrote this, but I was in 5th grade so it kind of sucks.
Idea #3: A post-apocalyptic/wartime tale featuring my character Evie (my original inspiration for Aurora) as she struggles to make sense of her hatred and bitterness while trying to survive in the ruthless New World. (Krista, you've actually read some of this - I have 23 pages of CRAP at the moment).
Idea #4: A complex fantasy world involving mermaids, pirates, and political intrigue (yes, you heard me right). In this strange world, each creature that is born on land has a counterpart born in the sea - a maritime mirror image, if you will. So, each human being that enters the world does so at the same time that a mer-version of him or her is born in the sea. However, the two are not equal. Those born on land are doomed to live a brief life full of affliction, disease, and weakness, but in turn they are granted an immortal soul. Those born in the sea, however, (that is, the "mermaids") possess fantastic powers ranging from the ability to control the weather and manipulate water to the ability to mesmerize. They will never succumb to disease and live for very long periods - but they lack an immortal soul, and when they die, that's it.
There's a catch to this, though. If a human being can find their "sea-sister" or "sea-brother", the two will be bonded. The mer-person will share the human's soul, thus gaining immortality, and in return the human will be able to use all sorts of crazy fantastic powers.
The story centers around Rum Narelle, a penniless, traveling storyteller who accidentally finds her sea-sister (this is where I got my pirate name, "Rum") and Shen Onkar, a young pirate Captain with two different color eyes (this is actually significant, though I can't tell you why) and a singularly terrifying reputation.
Idea #5: An alternative to idea#4. The whole elaborate fantasy construct could be replaced and made into a science fiction story, wherein a futuristic earth is so incredibly overpopulated that scientists devise a rather extreme way to save the population from total destruction - genetically altering half the population to live in the sea, thereby relieving the problem on land. This decision has far-reaching consequences, however, and the story takes place years later, when humanity is denying that this "splitting of the races" every took place.
Idea #6: Partially stolen from TOSOT, I'll admit. Or perhaps it'd be more accurate to say that I stole TOSOT from it. Centers around three women in the future (two very similar to Aurora and F. Libby, but the third less like April and more like...um...impish?) This story is corrupted beyond repair by its associations with TOSOT, so I doubt I'll ever be able to separate the two. :'(
I've got more...lots more...so ask if you want to hear them.
YOU STEAL ANY OF THESE AND YOU DIE. SERIOUSLY.
