Don't care who you are; this version of Let It Go is SO freakin' epic!! Love the animation, and the lipsyncing is done perfectly, as with other language versions of this!

By tired I more meant that it was everywhere lol and that can be …. Uh… a lot. I do still enjoy many of the songs

i am sure i have posted these in idoj jukebox, but I am slightly optimistic about the wicked movie so I am letting myself love the music again.

 

Of course this classic- I mean. JUST. MMM. SO GOOD. Still pulls on my heartstrings. 

 

and the way defying gravity is echoed in THIS heartbreaker? Like. Genius.

I'm still interested in seeing this, but mostly because of Jonathan Bailey.

Yeah… I don’t know why it looks like that😂 it might be an awkward editing thing! Because I did watch a featurette that said they sang live on set. I mean? I don’t know enough about film to tell ya why it gives the impression that’s not the case. They probably edited a recorded version over the one they sang live.

I fiercely loved this musical back in the day. And I have to admit I am curious to see it on screen! It’s certainly is reminding me why I liked the music in the first place.

I think it may be because she's not used to acting and singing simultaneously? When she was on Victorious, she did both but it wasn't a musical, and the two were always very separate. And she's mostly been a singer since then, so I think she might have just fell back onto what works in a pop concert, when you don't need to emote as much while you sing? Idk. I'll pass final judgment when I see it.

micah and i listened to wicked on our drive up to see my parents this past weekend and MANNNN NOSTALGIA city. 

 

It's official that the music in this show still gives me goosebumps. I almost got teary a few times.

So Tim and I just got back from seeing Wicked. Jonathan Bailey absolutely stole the show lol. Like...it was clear he had the most theater experience because he was waaaaaay more expressive while singing Dancing Through Life than either Ariana Grande or Cynthia Erivo were during like 80% of their singing. Not that they were bad, they were both quite good actually and they grew on me a lot as the movie went on, but just he was phenomenal. It's almost a crime that they split this into two movies because he wasn't in part one enough.

Yeah, to no one's surprise, I liked it! I liked all the performances and the costumes were fun!

 

I do think there is something magical about musical theater that is just DIFFERENT enough that it makes them hard to compare. 

 

I was laughing at a few times when no one else was laughing which was ... awkward.  lol 

 

The relationship of Glinda and Elphaba has a love of mine for a long time and I felt like that was represented quite well.  I am not prepared for For Good. Or No Good Deed.

this isn't a musical number, but LISTEN.... this scene is SO iconic. THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN MARIA AND THE CAPTAIN IS PALPABLE. They make this look so incredibly graceful, sweet, AND sexy all at the same time.
