Some things I really like in a fanfic are when it gives me "feelz", like I've mentioned here before, but also time travel(if done right and historically accurate), aged up/down(as long as it's canon), fave pairing fluff(as long as there's not too much of it lol), sickfics(like Sarah mentioned and medically accurate), plenty of adventure to different places(provided they get the culture right, unless it's aliens lol), mild drama, holiday themed, school themed, lots of appropriate humor(unlike in Planet Sheen, bleh!), alternate universe with the same characters(if done well), you get the idea. I love a good fic if it's done right, like Mara's TOSOT or The Good, the Bad, and the Wealthy!

Oh, I also really enjoy fix it fics. Sometimes shows/books/movies just do you dirty and you need someone to fix it!

I did something like that with the endings of eps that I didn't find quite satisfactory; I did offline continuations of them on my computer. I wish I could post them here, but my stupid computer freezes before I can log into it to begin with... Otherwise, I'd totally show you what I did!

That's nice! Not that your computer is broken of course, that's a bummer. Yeah, I've written a few myself and obviously I enjoy reading them. 

 

Oh, I really like how fanfic encourages people to interact with each other! I have made some good friends.

I like non-canon pairings but only if the characters are not OOC. I also like adventure/rescue fics and hurt/comfort. Also can't go wrong with good fluff

Some of the best fics are the ones written by avid fans to correct shitty endings and garbage plot twists.

I love the mutual pining trope. In fic/ books/ any form I can get it. UGH. I am such a stinking sap. 

 

Also, I really enjoy talking with other writers who write the same ships. (Especially others who are as passionate about it as I am. lol.) It's fun.

I love being able to write scenes that pop into my head. Plot has never been my strong suit and I used to feel pretty insecure about that. Like I was somehow less because I wrote straight up romance, but now.. I revel in it!

 

I love that fanfic has allowed me to enjoy my hobby without all the pressure of being a published author. It's GREAT.

I like when fanfic is fun. Sometimes, people can take it too seriously (like yes, please don't treat it like a joke because it's not) but it's also much more enjoyable to read when I know the author is doing it because they love the characters. 

 

I like how fanfic brings people together! I mean, look what TOSOT did for the JN fandom. It's so cool to have that common thing to obsess over.

Aside from making a new topic for that, cuz one, it's been a good while, and two, I just feel it needs to be added to an already existing topic!
