I was just rewatching the very beginning of the movie again yesterday.
Have I mentioned that I love the very beginning of this film far more than the film as a whole itself?

I think Frozen is a great movie, but it could have dealt with the Hans situation better. Hans' shift from nice to crazy was very sudden and had no transition. If he was obsessed enough about power to do what he did, then he would have already known his family couldn't help him and have planned from the start to marry the princess. However, I think Hans'e character was too good at his job. Until the reveal, his plan doesn't seem to exist.
I forgot where I was going with this. I'll be back later.

@Cameron: totally agree. I think the writers were going for a "sometimes you just don't know who's a bad person" message, which is true, but as a literary choice it doesn't really work. There should've been more clues - albeit subtle ones, of course.

It should all make sense in hindsight, but even though I have seen it again and know that Hans is evil, it still doesn't make sense. You are right about the subtle clues. I want to re-watch, notice the clues and then be like "I see what you did there writers"
