It should all make sense in hindsight, but even though I have seen it again and know that Hans is evil, it still doesn't make sense. You are right about the subtle clues. I want to re-watch, notice the clues and then be like "I see what you did there writers"

 

Yeah, its almost too good of a twist if its coming that much out of left field.

 

I guess its a "good twist" in that most of the audience doesn't see it coming, but is it really a satisfying twist if you can't look back and notice the clues that would've led up to it and/or implied that would eventually happen? I'm not sure.

 

Good message, somewhat lazy writing.

I think the problem could've been fixed if Hans was just self-motivated and willing to hurt others to get what he wanted, rather than close-the-curtains-and-sneer evil. If they'd portrayed Hans as opportunistic in his grab for power, rather than diabolical, I think it would've worked even without earlier clues. His brand of villainy was just too one-dimensional to be convincing.

That too. He was a bit of a "mustache twirling, maniacal laughter" one-note cartoony villain by the time of the reveal, and his motivations could've been a lot more interesting. 

 

Its the one part of the movie almost everyone seems to bring up, either as a flaw or something they're not sure what to think of, even if they loved the rest of film.

Saw this edit on tumblr...I actually prefer the more "realistic" version. I think she looks cuter.

I actually have to agree with Mara I like the realistic one more, though her eyes don't seem quite right in that one.... but then again I am pretty tired.

Ok, Katie has been posting her love for this movie on FB non-stop that it's flooding my notifications list, Katia is doing the same and Mara's been squeeing at wanting to watch this movie very badly.
 
Being that I love character development AND musicals (ie - PF The Wall).. NOW I'm super interested in watching this movie now.
 
*looks at Thenie* I really WISH we're neighbors, I'd SO take you with me to watch it.

Wooooow!!

So....ummm....after more than 3 1/2 years since this movie came out, I FIIINALLLLY was able to watch it in it's entirety.

And I have to say....why? Why did I miss this film when it first took over the world? Why did I wait more than 3 years to let this movie's magic and whimsy work on me? And how could I have passed on the sheer amazing sisterhood of Queen Elsa and Princess Anna?

I have no clue why but the fact remains: I saw it finally and...I love it! I love it! I love it!I love it! I love it!

Elsa and Anna are the 2 best Disney characters since... Timon and Pumba? :blink:

Sorry I'm so ridiculously late to the Frozen trian. But I'm here now.

I agree, it's superbly awesome!!  I love how Anna ultimately sacrificed herself to save Elsa!  Now that's true sisterly love! :kawaii:

We should make this topic about the sequel, too! I saw it for the first time earlier this month, and I gotta say, it was brilliant! A total role reversal in part of it, where Elsa winds up frozen solid for a while instead of Anna; that was a plot twist I totally didn't see coming until she was in that bitterly cold room viewing memories of her past! Totally epic, IMO!! :la:

I wasn't really a huge fan of the sequel, actually. I liked Show Yourself, and Kristoff's cheesy 80s love ballad in the woods with the reindeer, but I thought the plot was really weak in comparison to the first, with a lot of plot holes that didn't really make sense. Honestly, it kinda seemed like they made a sequel because they wanted to cash in on how popular the characters and music were, not because they actually had a good story to tell.

Yeah, that's true... I wasn't exactly sure why Elsa insisted on going off by herself the rest of the way... Maybe she didn't want Anna to get frozen solid again, but then again, she didn't know that would happen until it actually started to happen to her instead of Anna. I did love how she ultimately created an ice horse, which was awesome, and the fire newt was adorable... :wub: I also loved the song Into the Unknown the most! :kawaii: I guess you could say I have mixed feelings about the movie, too... ^^;
