I'm not sure if I'm doing this correctly, but here's a little backstory of him.

Chapter 1: The Beginning.

Out in a dimension a few lightyears and energy segments away,

"Oh BALDERDASH! forget that nonsense!"
A kid replied.

"Dear Readers,"
he said as he read from a piece of paper inside a classroom of older adolescents.
"Many things are not known about the universe. man has only set so much footing into it to take a look. However, there is one man known universally as the Narrator who has. He travels throughout space, time, and the dimensions to discover what man hasn't seen and he brings it back for them to see. It's a dangerous job too as he could encounter dangers as countless as the stars in space. It is my wish to be like him one day modeling after his courage and unboundable ability."
The kid stopped reading and sat down without another word.

The classroom murmured amongst themselves as if to display their opinion and soon started to mildly applause the kid's work.
However, it was the teacher who seemed not to care much about it.
"the assignment was to model yourself after a real character James. Not on a fictional emulation." the teacher said.
"ah but I couldn't resist." James, the kid who read that is, said.
"either way. You did not pass this assignment." The teacher said.

James Melsen was not usually one to fail assignments. It was discouraging because lately he was not doing well in school strangely.
He knew though, that if his rival, Alice Grant, ever were here to see that, she'd be having a smug grin on her face wider than the state of Texas.
Luckily for him, she was out sick with a cold.

James glumly walked to his desk and sat awaiting for school to end.
Finally, school ended and James was glad to get out of the boring place.
But when walking home, he encountered something of a relatively odd nature. It was a glowing rock about two times the size of a baseball. It was halved too so it could obviously be opened wide and closed shut.
It also glowed a bright color of blue, which was eerie in and of itself.
But, as so, James opened the rock to find an odd little watch inside and, therefore, took it out without a minute's hesitation.
But after putting the watch on, a searing burning pain flew up James arm and he instantly dropped unconscious.

Rest of the story and a theme for the character :)

Chapter 2: Awakening.

James awoke to find himself still lying on the concrete with the sun beating overhead.
The road he had traveled down was usually less traveled save two class mates who took the route later in the day.

"That was a might strange." James said as he sat up.
He then looked up and saw the watch that he had haplessly put onto his wrist. The watch appeared different than most watches. It had a more buttons on it with labels such as TIMEWARP or SPACEWARP.
It also had a digital display: a holographic digital display.

But to James' chagrin, one class mate came down the route.
And who was it none-other than his nemesis: Alice.
And, despite his disbelief, she was not sick.

Alice was originally never hateful of James. In fact, they  never regarded each other because they were in two different cities.
However, James moved and soon the two encountered each other in school.
At first their relationship was strictly an acquaintance.
However, James' strange behavior and oddities (and maybe even abilities) gradually made Alice dislike him.
Consequentially, James disliked her.

"so what are you doing on the ground?" she sneered.
"fall on your bum?"
James glared at her and simply walked off without retaliating.

'Who was she to insult me for experiencing something I couldn't control?' He thought.
It angered him but he had nothing else to do but brush the thought off and head home.

Finally, a few minutes passed and he was home.

Upon entering, his mother was the first to approach him.
"Well young man, I would like an explanation as to why your room is still dirty after I've told you countless times to clean it!"
She said crossly.
Normally, his mother was kind, sweet, loving, and very hard to anger.
But apparently she was mad now.
"I...keep forgetting about it mom." he said.
"You need to write yourself a list of important things you need to do James. I become very disappointed in you when you don't do your work."
Mother said.

James' room was indeed a mess. He didn't want to clean it because he had more important things to do:
Schoolwork, and even filmmaking he had to do.
But this was more important.
However, as he figured, he could, instead of picking up things using his hands, he could just move them using his mind.

James was a naturally born telekinetic. It was unexpected and strange as the doctor said.
But James learned how to use his ability to his advantage.
Of course, starting out was not easy. When he was younger he had a hard time trying to move as much as a corn flake from his cereal bowl.
Now he was able to send at least ten small table desks around the room...and, even then, he still had more to learn and strengthen.
With a brisk thought in his mind, the trash landed in the trash can, the bed was semi-made, the clothes were put in the hamper, and everything else was put in it's respective spot.
"And done." he said taking a bow.

That was the time for him to start his computer.
James walked to a small laptop that was on a desk in the corner of his room.
He switched it on and started getting himself ready for a school project that was for tomorrow. He was supposed to dress up as a 1930's police detective and therefore pulled out a tie, a suit, a trench coat, a note pad, and an old fedora.
He simply got dressed into the costume to run a few tests on movement as he would be acting.
But after getting dressed, his attention turned to the watch he had found earlier. He entirely forgot to take it off earlier as Alice's insults made him clear the area faster than a roadrunner.
So, since he still had it, he figured he would go ahead and see what it did.

He pressed one of the buttons labeled as SPACEWARP on the watch.
The watch beeped and the next thing James knew, energy flew from the watch and James was flying through space!
He screamed the entire way till eventually he landed on a planet in a flash of light.

Chapter 3: Epilogue

Since then, his small time on the planet aided in his training. He improved his telekinetic abilities, learned many forms of martial arts both Alien and human, and used the watch to his advantage. he eventually started using his watch to gain information to use in his history classes.
Above all, he became a great fighting force amongst the worlds and time periods.
Thus anyone who was in need could simply call upon:
The Narrator.

Chapter 4: Neutronia.

The Narrator, now 18 years of age, was home in his room.
During the past two years, he had traveled time and space to watch and observe and, of course, beat up your occasional Villain.
Alice and The Narrator were on seemingly better terms as of late. In fact, it was almost too much better.
He was also to be graduating that year: which added ton's more stress.

As so, he had to record a history report and went to another time to record the report.

But as of now, the Narrator figured he would travel to another dimension just for the fun of doing so.
The Narrator simply smiled, dawned his suit, trench coat, and fedora, picked up his .354 magnum and an (almost) endless supply of Solid-Light Projectiles (or simply, light bullets), and set the dimensional coordinates into his watch. Once he checked to make sure he had everything (including, as strange as it seemed, his small video camera), he immediately pressed the DIMENWARP button on the watch.
Immediately, light flashed, and the scenery immediately changed in a ripple from the normal boredom of his room to a high desert plain with mountains placed here and there.

This was the strange Land of Neutronia.

(Interesting! I'm intrigued to learn as to what comes next in this thing... By the way, do you think this guy would ever travel to Retroville when Neutronia's namesake was a kid with all his friends?? I'd REALLY love to read about that!!)

((well actually, he did travel to the JN universe [as a more off screen character, although I might write another story where he actually interacts with the JN gang.]
This is evident by the epilogue fanfic I made. :)))
