As explained on the How Do You Feel thread, I became hooked on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic (thanks to outside forces out of iDOJ) recently.

So, being a new "brony" (slang term for fans of MLP: FiM), I decided to found this latest club!

MLP: FiM can be seen on The Hub, btw. Anyone can join and discuss anything related to FiM!

I haven't seen any of this, but I have decided to give it a shot! I *heart* cartoons, and it sounds like this cartoon has a pretty massive adult following - probably worth looking into!

I'll report back once I've seen some of this with my opinion. Not going to lie, I'm kind of excited.

Three episodes in, and I can definitely see the appeal. It's just so...pleasant! I think that's the best word to describe it. I am thoroughly entertained by the pleasantness of this show.

I will definitely be watching the entire season of episodes, and probably will have them finished in a few days. As a matter of principle, I hate all things pink, but I think I may need to make an exception with Pinkie Pie. Her musical numbers are frickin' amazing. Loooool.

I also enjoy reading comments by the giant crowd of adult male followers of this show -

"I can't believe I watched an entire episode about a pony making dresses. Complete with musical number."

"This show is like the ultimate temptation for eternal damnation in Man Hell. You could be a 6'9" Chechen Mercenary with a dick that would make a walrus blush, and the instant you see this, you are forever ensnared in its foul, adorable clutches."

Pfffffffffft. Anything with that sort of commenting HAS to be awesome. Onwards, to episode four!

This show must have some really good writers, cause it has such a huge adult male audience and I'm a bit of a fan too. Never before has there been such a following for a My Little Pony show.

Yup! I watched up through episode five yesterday. (LOooooooooooled especially hard at the youtube comments for that one - all that testosterone concerning Gilda - "BRB GETTING A KNIFE FOR THAT B*TCH", etc - sooooooooo funny to see such a huge outpowering of male anger for the sake of a sweet My Little Pony named Fluttershy. Not that I blame them, I wanted to punch out that Griffon, too.)

I'll watch more today. If I become an official fan, would I also be a "Brony", or is there some female version of that? I'm totally down with being called a Brony, but I do want to make sure I am getting the terminology right.

Also...and I never thought I'd say this before having watched the show...the all-pink pony is my favorite. Pinkie Pie, I love you. Please be my friend, my life would be complete.

Lol, I am, too, Urvy. Just finished episode 9. These are addictive.

And holy cow, found techno music inspired from the show by "Eurobeat Brony". Best fandom ever? *proceeds to download*

I watched the first episode...I'm not entirely sure this show is my cup of tea. >.< I like explosions, roundhouse kicks, and people trying to stab each other. This might be too...pleasant, lol.

But, to be fair, I'll give it my customary 5 episode run. 5 episodes to impress me, or I'll retain my adult dignity and walk away. ;)

Haha, you're actually watching it? This amuses me somehow.

I can't promise you'll like it, lol. I enjoy it, because I like watching shows where there's just random antics the characters get up to, and this is filled with them. The first two episodes have more "plot", and then it's just random stories after that (as far as I can tell so far, I'm on episode 15). What I love is that there are actual female characters that have...personality. Like, they aren't defined by being girls, and I love that. Especially for little kids to watch.

But yes, it's not exactly action packed. And it's one of those shows that either grows on you, or doesn't. It certainly grew on me. =)

I do take issue with Episode 15 for inaccurately portraying the scientific process...and inaccurately portraying faith. Which makes me sad, because it's a Pinkie Pie episode and I LOVE her. Oh well. One out of fifteen ain't bad as far as disappointment goes.

Otherwise, I'm adoring this show. The more I watch, the more I love.

Well...2 episodes later, I really like Rainbow and Fluttershy. And I love the burping-up of messages from the princess. But...oh my God...the sugaryness. It's triggering my gag reflex.

I think I need to draw some chicks with guns and watch a couple of buff dudes beat the crap out of each other.

~*Mara*~ = ^.^ =
P.S. As far as the good female characters thing goes, I agree, but it's rendered slightly less effective by virtue of the fact that there are no male ponies.
P.P.S. A lot of the voice actresses sound vaguely familiar...

Oh yes, what attracted me was Tara Strong voicing Twilight Sparkle.
