Just a question - didn't Mara decide not to give out a sketch as a prize each month? I thought (and sort of hope) she did. I feel like the month prize should just be fame and glory, like Crys posted at the beginning.

Basically, I'm all for more posting. And for spam...just not for spam EVERYWHERE. I'm a little tired of one word or utterly random replies on threads that are actually meant for real content. Posting wars are fun, yes, but at the expense of making this board readable to others (especially newbies)...not so fun.

Just my two cents. I like that this contest has increased regular posting (LOVE that, actually), but dislike spam literally taking over the entirety of IDOJ. Posting just for the sake of getting a higher post count should be restricted to threads that are meant for silly fun.

My suggestion: If you are about to post, ask yourself - am I posting because I have something valuable to add, or am I posting just to increase my post count? If it's the latter, please pick yourself up and move yourself to one of our many MANY silly threads made for that express purpose.

Agreed. Keep spam to spam topics and seriousness to serious topics. I'm sorry Katie and everyone else who's been annoyed with spam spilling over. That wasn't my original intent. It annoys me as well.

Alright. So I've given myself a day to think about some things and calm down considerably, and I have made a decision. You've offended a few people Urvy, and upset several more in the last month by your words and actions over something that's worth only 5 dollars.

You've:
Attacked Beks because she had more points than you did last month.
Attacked me because I created this contest.
Attacked Mara's writing because you were frustrated with both the contest and the fact that you didn't getting enough posts on your one-shot in the first 24 hours of it being posted
Confronted me on Facebook twice in 24 hours after Mara asked you to step away from IDOJ for the weekend
Told Emily you were going to kill yourself
And then attacked my personal integrity as an educator when I was giving you a playful ribbing about not winning the posting contest for one night.

I say these things not to drudge up the past, but just to clarify what I mean.

Your attitude towards this contest has been driving me insane and pushed me to my boiling point. I've tried not to over react, but the facts are not standing in your favor. I'm to the point of giving you one last chance. Go too far in the posting contest, attack one more IDOJ because of this contest, and I'm pulling you out of it. I'm sorry to do this, but frankly if one of my preschoolers show a bad sportsman-like attitude like this, they would have been taken out of the game on the third indiscretion.
