jimmy. sheen and carl each for fell on love with their crushes. i wonder if the love ptition jimmy made actually doesn't makeyou fall in love with the first person you see but it instead intensifies their feeling for who tehy were crushing on. for example, sheen already liked libby, but when after he sniffed the potion, he saw her and fell in love with her.

I always figured they saw them first because they were already fixated on them. So yeah, they did like them before that, and because of that, they are who they always look for first in any situation. So, I think the love potion does work for whoever you see first. Just, its more likely you'll look at your crush first, because...it's your crush, lol.
Explains Junkman/BG as well, because of all their arguing they were already fixated on one another so their eyes went to each other first.

Also the factor of Cindy & Libby being right outside Jimmy's lab at the time the two boys came out, if they hadn't been, well.. I won't say that they couldn't have still seen the girls first, cause that's still possible of course, but if Jimmy had seen some other girl had they been in different places at the time, like Libby or Betty, Cindy, even even a random one like Brittany. The animators just made it super easy for J/C & S/L to get the spotlight cause that was the canon.
Let's say Cindy wasn't there & Jimmy went by Betty while driving his hovercar & saw her first. Same thing could've happened because she was still a crush of his at the time, & J/B would've eventually become the canon instead.
But as for your point of intensifying the crush, I do agree with it, I just made extra possible examples instead of ONLY J/C & S/L. (although I love S/L just like you guys do. xD)

Remember in the episode, though, that Jimmy said it would make a boy fall in love with the first girl he saw? And Jimmy and Sheen were headed up to the house to get something?
What if the first girl Jimmy saw was his mom? Wouldn't that be the most awkward thing on the face of the earth? And if Judy was also the first girl Sheen saw...oh, boy! xDDDD
