[J/C AVA]

While I may be a huge J/C shipper, I admire J/B just as much, because Betty is just.. I dunno, nice to Jimmy. Something Cindy could learn from her if she wasn't so stubborn and isolated. <_<

Sorry if I may be one of those people that can get a bit overboard with the whole "Use J/B as a stepping platform for J/C" thing, despite me being on this site since 2006. :unsure:

I agree with you Pedro. I love J/C but Betty is such a nice, sweet character you want to make her your best friend.

Actually, I don't mind the whole J/B to get to J/C - IF DONE CORRECTLY. I mean, some fics are horrible Betty-bashing fics. I'd like to see a fic that actually had Betty as she was in JN: sweet, if a little distant.

Yeah, I agree, Suhaila. One such fic is My Happy Ending on ff.net. I didn't like the way they portrayed Betty as a b****! Sure, she's not my fave, but I still like her, and can't stand to visualize her that way!

and I don't think Betty appeared until... Operation:Rescue Jet Fusion.

Uhm, wrong. She appeared as one of the primary (but not main) characters in Party at Neutron's, which is listed as either part of the 13th or 14th episode in the series.


& while Cindy was the first in "I Dream of Jimmy", this was the Dream-Cindy in Carl's dreams, not the real one, so I don't think this counts.

Betty's kiss however, happened in the real JN world, not in a dream sequence. So I think she qualifies as being Jimmy's first kiss, & I know Keith Alcorn himself used to ship J/B before season 3 came around. He changed over caused Cindy mellowed out & got better regarding the Jimmy situation, or along those words.

So I think that while J/C is the true canon, J/B is somewhat canon, if only by so much. I doubt it'll actually happen in the writers' hands if they were to do a 4th season or next-gen spin-off, but with one of the top people in JN's staff team a former supporter until Cindy softed up & got to friend-status with Jimmy (for the most part anyway), I think that counts to a point. :)





Emily: ugh, don't remind me about that fic. I remember that authoress actually came on here a year or two (not sure) ago, & well... needless to say it didn't help that it was my point where I was a little put down by the fact J/B likely wouldn't happen for realz. She wasn't mean or anything, but I gotta say she didn't win many points J/B & Betty-wise. ^^;


But I can't stand those fics much at all. Authors of them however, I respect & am still ok to be friends with. One disagreement between us can't keep us from being friends at all (especially when one of those friends was apparently as much a TC addict as I was back in the day, & both of us still are to a point :thumbsup:), I'm merely talking about the fanfictions alone, writers are a completely different topic. I only ask that they don't bash J/B or Betty... then I'm perfectly okay with them. ^^

I still won't read those types of fics though, just too different a POV than mine. ^^;;;

Up until season 3, but yes, as far as I know. This makes him that much cooler in my eyes than just being one that talks to fans & such. :dance:

I meant like out of all top people in their respective shows. Its kinda rare for that to happen. More often these days, (notably the shows I actually like) but still kinda rare. ^_^

In my opinion, though it was considerably less obvious at that time, there was JC in the original move, so I consider it to be older.
I really honestly would be JB if I thought that was what was intended by the writers.

Maybe you could do an AU counterpart eventually, with J/B instead? I know it'd be a long way off, but I'm just curious there. ^^;;

No, I'm only writing one, but I'm going to include some JB material. I'm going to resolve Jimmy and Betty's relationship in a way that does not insult either person- which, regrettably, if I'm going to want it to end JC, will involve having the villains kill Betty and using her death as character development for Jimmy.

You know, I'd really prefer myself if I were JB, but I'm trying to go along with what the writers wanted, and if I were JB I would have an even smaller following than I do now.

Betty's not my fave female character, but I still like her, so, I'm not so sure I could stand to see her murdered... I kinda like the idea, though... ;) With the character development for J/C, which I ADORE, that is... :thumbsup:

I consider it my most satisfactory option, since any other option that ends in J/C would imply something that I don't want to imply (ie, Betty isn't very nice, or Jimmy doesn't really like Betty, etc)

Keith had a....funny sense of humor, really. We had no idea it was him when he first popped up on tvtome, and he almost got himself banned (lucky him that Brad and Brit had found out who he was and warned KittyQuasar, so he was saved....though bombarded with questions from that point on)

I used to absolutely despise Betty. I'm older now and more mature (oh, the temptation to make a joke about growing a mustache...), so I don't hate her anymore, and I'm not trying to defenestrate her (I wonder if anyone will get THAT reference...), I still don't like that she kissed Jimmy but was completely okay with backing off of him. Sort of a 'get your hopes up, let you go down' sort of thing, but I suppose she probably did like him, but realized that Cindy liked him more and that Jimmy really felt only a physical attraction to her, whereas Cindy could talk to him as (almost) an intellectual equal.

Yeah, I think a lot of us hated Betty when we were younger. I did.

But then this past summer when I got really into JN again I realized she was awesome, and totally doesn't deserve all the bashing she gets.

I Agree! I Use to be the 'Betty Must Die' Kind of person,but now I'm more mature. Altough I don't think she is Super Awesome but I'm not so bitter toward her. I still think Cindy is more awesome
